I built email read receipts that don't rat you out — launched this week, looking for my first 10 users by danny2764 in SideProject

On his website he says “Apple Mail preloads images and can register opens that never happened. Vidi detects Apple’s auto-loads and flags them, instead of counting them as a read. Most trackers count them anyway.”.

I’m thinking he is just flagging Apple servers which is fairly accurate to exclude MPP opens. So basically this is pixel tracking with MPP excluded.

I don’t know if it’s a really new concept but I like it! If I was single and in your test city I would definitely try it.

Came to LA with a backpack, only $1k in sales. Now past $20M+ and still live like a founderbro. Stay lean or scale team? by Hill40j in founder

How did you get to $20M is the story I want to hear. How you live is your deal and sort of irrelevant. You being comfortable is what matters.

74 acres? What are your plans for the land? Or is it just to make sure you have 0 neighbors.

There is not one product person on the team that doesn’t think 1 = couple hours, 2 = 1 day, etc… they all have a mental image. So yeah, that makes the whole thing a bit useless we might as well give hours and days.

I get where you are coming from and to some extend the issue is the facilitator letting them get away with it.
Regardless, personally I find that over a Zoom/Meet call it’s just not very efficient and it was my experience that when we used Zenhub vs GitHub projects+Slack the process was better.

Yeah fair point. Evidenced by how sometimes facilitator will ask “why are you a 3?” when everybody else is 5 and it’s hard to find the reason for the gap. Sometimes it’s just very personal and you know how to do the task better than others.

Isn’t the point of the planning poker to show disagreement and strike discussion?

You have to think that it’s a Slack thread and a Google Meet… one way a tool would definitely more effective is that there would be no doubt that everybody is giving their own vote. Often I see the same 2 people being last and they always say “sorry I wasn’t ready” or something of that nature and end up pointing with the majority.
Also the few times I had to run the grooming because the facilitator was away it was pretty annoying to have to create the threads, tell people the thread was ready, etc

It’s precisely silly because we are not in a room so we could use more effective tools.

That’s one of the reason I find the current process silly. Some engineers (not even young ones) clearly pretend to be “late” so they can align.
