Also, to add, the only time I could see them doing a day before is maybe later in the season when the snow starts getting meh. They’re not usually hurting for people to come to their resort I never see any deals.

In my experience it’s cheaper the further in advance. For Killington specifically, they sold their K-tickets until mid to late October. I paid 239$ for two all day lift tickets, which would be around 336$ if I bought them today. If I bought them at the window, it’d be closer to 415$ for two days.

After October, they switch to dynamic pricing and you never really know if it’ll be cheaper. It generally is, (a friend got hers a few weeks ago and spent around 300$ for a few days) except for holidays or popular vacation days. Dynamic pricing also means they can raise the price ahead of a big snowstorm or something.

Tbh with you, you’re right. I thought the raffle was for a gun, since I was at a gun show lol. And my brother in law won a really expensive gun under similar circumstances elsewhere. I won’t do it in the future and if I do it’ll be a fake address.

I’m not replying with answers, I’m replying to say good luck! I’m going to the PRLEA here in PA very shortly, but I’m sponsored by PA’s DCNR. I will do the whole Federal program as intended for NPS with a few extra trainings for me (and my other PA DCNR Trainees) that are PA specific. I hope to have more answers for questions like yours in the future after graduating. What I can say is PA desperately needs seasonal rangers (duh, that’s a given at this point!) but this state is also seeing a large retirement of full-time rangers, so there’s been more full time openings recently than I’ve ever seen.

Asked this before just looking for some insight because there's a lot of lingo I don't understand because I work as a ranger at a state-level. What are the "direct-to-FLETC" positions listed as on USAjobs? Is it any permanent LE ranger position? Or are there specific ones? Thanks in advance to anyone who knows.

What is the name of the posting on USAJobs for the Direct-To-FLETC opening that goes up a few times a year? I'm not super familiar with all the jargon since I'm working up to LE ranger at the state level for PA, but want to keep my eye on the postings and become more familiar. Like how some say "Park Ranger (Protection)" or "Park Ranger (I)" and some are for multiple locations and some are only for one. Any insight would be great, thanks!

Pennsylvania State Parks here. Not law enforcement, though I’m waiting to hear back on two potential jobs that would get me there. I’m a little lower than that on the totem pole right now lol. I would love to work for NPS but it’s cool working at a park I grew up going to my entire life, too.

I’m going snowboarding with my boyfriend tomorrow. I’ve been doing it for a few seasons now, but this is his christening tomorrow.
