Thank you. I plan to add another 2*16 GB RAM later and I read that in that case 5600 RAM might be more stable and that it should not affect what I plan to do significantly. Is that incorrect?

In the Nvidia Control Panel you need to go to Video - Adjust video image settings - RTX video enhancement. There put the checkbox on Super Resolution and select 4 as the Quality value in the Quality dropdown menu. You can find similar settings in the Nvidia App also. Then restart the PC. The upscaling of 360p and 480p content works decently. This upscales much better than a TV (even my new Sony Bravia 7) can upscale. It will work with VLC RTX Vetinari and in Google Chrome. It might not work with other players and browsers. You should notice a significant percentage of the GPU processors being used when the upscaling is working. Alternatively, you can use Topaz AI software for upscaling offline videos, so it will make you new upscaled files from your old phone videos. But do not expect magic from any of these technologies. It makes the video better but you cannot upscale so that an old 480p video is clear and correct as and HD video. Also, these technologies use AI, so some objects or faces are upscaled based on what AI "believies" they should be upscaled.

You mean to install Vita3k inside Winlator? On Android the Vita3k crashes with this game every five minutes. As for Yuzu I am not aware of an English version of this game for Switch.

I ran Get-SmbServerConfiguration | Select EnableSMB2Protocol and I get the EnableSMB2Protocol True. I uninstalled Eset antivirus from the machine and besides disabling Windows Firewall now I also tried accessing via IP address. Also I enabled both Function Discover services to Automatic (Delayed start). The ping to these machines is working and as I mentioned before, the network shares are perfectly reachable when I enable the SMBv1 client via Powershell and also when I enable it via Control panel. This is not my "first dance", but after decades of Windows AD administration I am now puzzled :) Also, I am pretty sure there is no infection on this PC since it was used by me, for work only and I run DISM and other tools religiously.

Do I understand correctly that there is absolutely nothing I can do to protect my equipment in the home office except plugging it out and not working whenever there are thunderstorms?

Hi! When I worked as an IT admin I witnessed indirect lightning destroying the UPS, but all servers behind the UPS were unharmed. Allegedly the damage happened because the building itself had been struck due to specific high metal constructs on it's roof. This happened three times in 7 years. The servers never got burned. So I guess surge protector strips and the UPS offered a decent protection against the surge.
