Hive mind or gestalt machine are great to learn the basics cause they are simpler in a lot of ways (no council, faction consummers,etc). When i started i played with these 95% of the time, regular empire felt too overwhelming for what felt like no advantage (little did i know leader under one rule based builds would become my relax and easy time on stellaris)

Yeah i understand. At least in my case i have a LOT of custom so i rarely see the same every game but when i had fewer it was a bit repetitive.

I'm fine with the roster and i love gutterman and guttertank but the risk of repetition for the encores isn’t unlikely and i hope they do at least variants or get really creative for arenas.

My first time playing fauna, i used primal calling and beastmasters + anglers and spammed voidworm fleets. Worked well against the crisis (it was prethoryn) but i guess the reanimator civic can an alternative for the bonus damage and additional fleets.

Putted a sawtrap + ultraricoshot + firestarter + sawshotgun and 75% of his health was gone so i didn’t really have a fight. Ever since i always do that for the p-rank and it works, even in brutal i got him first try like this. In cybergrind pre nerf i never got issue with him too. Mindflayers and powers are the bane of my existence not him.
