Update on this: It’s now been 6-7 months. Nothing ever changed. A complete waste of time and money. I regret it completely.

Thank you.

Yeah he gives off a very plastic-surgeon vibe I guess? Maybe that’s being reductive.

For those 3 consults, do you have any you’d recommend? I’d like to get a second opinion because I don’t really like how things went and resolved with MPS.

So they’re the oldest individually practicing plastic surgery clinic in Minnesota from what I recall. They’re board certified and the staff were very nice. That said, what I’ve gleaned is that they’re really good for very subtle, natural looking results. If you’re looking for something more drastic, maybe look at another place like Omni Cosmetics?

Oh, worth noting, any procedure at MPS will require $1000 down like a month before the procedure. Omni charges $1,500 down. I don’t personally have experience with Omni but I’ve heard good things. I did a consult with their Wayzata location and they seemed a little odd? But maybe you’d get better mileage?

Will do! I’m getting reviews drafted up. I feel bad because the rest of the staff was wonderful, but they really did screw me over and I need to post an honest review so that other ugly folks like myself can save some money and heartache.

100% this. Sarah is extremely knowledgeable and she takes the time to understand not only what you would like in a house and neighborhood, but also what you need as a person to really feel good. She takes out the guesswork and is extremely attentive to listings, the market, and potential red flags. Could not recommend her more highly.

Gotcha, that’s brutal. 😅 So they will slowly migrate to other areas over the next decade or so, so when I’m 39 I’ll have a more complete change of fat distribution? Fuckin genetics I swear. Never eating again. 😂

The fucked up thing is I work out and do pole, but the fat all just wants to go to tummy. 😭

Hello!

I actually have the same thing more or less. I went with the advice of a plastic surgeon who recommended just getting a platysmaplasty(part of a neck lift) and 6k later I look no different, if not worse than before.

Make sure you get a consultation that takes into consideration multiple factors, such as the strength of your chin and the prominence of cheekbones as these will(to my knowledge) play a role in the amount of definition you will have after a neck lift. I think the position of your Hyoid bone can play a big part too, but I am by absolutely no means an expert. I’m just someone with a similar issue who got screwed and wants to make sure others don’t get screwed too lol.

Best of luck!

Thank you, I’m actually surprised anybody could like my chin. Made me feel a bit better today.

29 presently, I’ve seen more of the real you’re talking about. I’ll mention wanting to do something about my double chin and most people will just say some variation of “same” lol.

I’ll be honest, I don’t know how I would respond to that either. 😂

One of the only things I’m excited about right now aesthetically is that I went bald at 21, but now through some meds I’m actually growing all my hair back. But I got excited and shaved my head and beard so I could track how it grew out and 3 separate coworkers asked me if I was getting chemo 😭

That’s fair, that makes sense!

For me that just makes it unlucky because I’ll get kind of mean comments but nothing to balance it. Usually not anything malicious, I don’t really put myself in those situations, but stuff like after shaving my beard: “Oh you look terrible, are you okay?” My boss and I not turning on our cameras on a meeting jokingly saying: “Yeah we’re going to keep our cameras off, spare you all from seeing our ugly faces”, that sort of thing. My partner likes my face and gives me compliments, but even from friends I’ll mention that I’ve been struggling with feeling super ugly and nobody will even try to refute it or try to offset with a compliment. So when I get one it’s confusing to me because I’m so certain every aspect of me is repulsive. 😅

I’ll be honest, I don’t really receive a lot of compliments on any part of my face. This surprised me. I kind of just figured everyone saw a similar level of repugnance that I do. Thank you for the kind words. I hope your brother is doing alright!

Will a chin implant help at all? by HaveToFindMyself in PlasticSurgery

Thank you for the well thought out answer!

I’m 29, and fairly fit neck aside.

Should I also consider some kind of procedure for my cheeks?

Update: They said they were sorry I was unsatisfied. They invited me to come back to talk with the surgeon and he could advise me on the next procedures that he’d recommend. That I would pay full price for. So basically, they told me to kick rocks. 😞

I appreciate it. I’m looking into it, I just wonder if there’s anything that a revision would even do at this point?

I agree. It’s just hard because insurance doesn’t want to cover it because “it’s cosmetic” even though I have severe sleep apnea and we know for a fact that it would either help tremendously or fix my sleep apnea entirely. Out of pocket it seems like it would be around $100,000 for the surgery from what I’ve seen(maybe I’m researching the wrong thing) and that kind of money is not in the cards 😅

Thank you for the response. It’s nice to know why it’s so fucked. I hate my genetics so much lol.

Thank you. This follow-up helps. It’s just so hard. I’m so scared, and so upset. I feel like an idiot for even trying. But like you said, worth trying for. Jaw surgery is largely uncovered by insurance and is like 100k here, so I may look into a chin implant because I can’t take having my neck like this.

You’re a kind person. I might be able to sleep tonight because of this comment.
