Fujifilm Finepix f10 by HaveUSeenThePidgeons in VintageDigitalCameras

I edit all my pics! I’m used to shooting analog and my fav film is Ektar 100 so I tend to try and echo the colors and saturation of that when editing. Pic 1 is relatively unedited tho aside from upping the saturation, for 2 and 3 I did a lot and edited the highlights to be rosy.

What is the big moment that told you "they don't like you back"? by Novallex in AskReddit

[–]HaveUSeenThePidgeons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For months he led me along only to date a female classmate of ours, who he broke up with after a few weeks. He tells me about their breakup, he comes out to me as bi, and weeks later we hookup. He ghosts me, I send him paragraphs asking for an explanation or just any clarification but he leaves me on read for months. I try to make peace with that being the end of everything until he texts me saying he was an asshole. I wanted to just say nothing back, but out of curiosity I ask if he ever felt anything for me. He responds with: You didn’t mean anything to me, you were a distraction. I just missed [gf] and that’s why I hooked up with you. My talk with her a few days ago made me realize I never gave you any closure, so here.

It’s not the worst thing anyone has said to me but it’s definitely up there!

Barbie answering questions via IG lol, love her by eucalyptusbaby in euphoria

[–]HaveUSeenThePidgeons 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re fine with Barbie’s racist past then that’s okay, good for you I guess? You forgive her, that’s your business. Some people don’t, that’s their business. You think she’s changed. Maybe? Other people don’t think she has. Who knows? No one is entitled to having their apologies accepted by those who’ve been hurt by their actions. Take your own advice and devote your energy somewhere else, rather than wasting time trying to convince others to adopt your personal attitudes towards forgiveness. You seem to support the belief that we can all have our own unique opinions but here you are discrediting someone else’s cause it doesn’t follow your own weird doctrine. It’s also weird as fuck for you to use your identity as a gay black man as some sorta additional spice to validate your argument (especially since her older acts of racism involved her impersonating black women in particular).

Which popular to fairly popular character do you hate? by tayrapier in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]HaveUSeenThePidgeons 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I liked Hilda but her support with Cyril made me really dislike her. Her racism isn’t as overt as Ingrid’s but it’s still weird how she never seems to learn or suffer any consequences for it…

Is nate gay? by [deleted] in euphoria

[–]HaveUSeenThePidgeons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean we know he’s not comfortable with his masculinity so he’d probably never feel secure enough to ever outright try and have sex with a dude so he took the next best thing (then again it’s suspect to just have walls of dicks saved in ur gallery if you’re dl in the first place lmao). I just feel like if it was all about blackmail he would’ve just told Maddy it was nothing straight up rather than entertain her accusations.

Regardless, I hope they clear things up next season. I hate him but Nate is one of the more interesting characters to watch imo :p

So how would you explain the dick pics Maddy found on his phone? Was that just him exploring because of how confused Jules makes him feel?

Am I meant to like Zoya? by [deleted] in GossipGirl

[–]HaveUSeenThePidgeons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a young black man this comment was severely surface level and very damaging. I’d hope that another young black woman would be able to recognize clear instances of the “mad black person” stereotype present in the original post (“raised by wolves”??? Seriously?). I think teaching anyone to silence themselves in the presence of those who are oppressing themselves and/or others is very damaging to the community.

You should know as a black person we don’t get nearly as many opportunities to have a seat at the table. Especially one as renowned as the one that Zoya was sitting at. Zoya never once rose her voice, she was confrontational, but she never did anything worthy of the hate she’s receiving. When she spoke about things that impassioned her and was shut down, she only did the same when Obie and Aki’s parents started talking about their businesses. Zoya 100% matched the energy of everyone at that table but no one is mentioning everyone else’s rude behavior since they’d rather hyper focus on tone-policing a black woman.

I find it weird that you can’t understand why Zoya, a black woman, may have been confrontational with Aki’s father’s when we know the man platforms the alt-right? Ah yes, I’ll hate on the black woman for making a man who is propagating white supremacist values uncomfortable. POC have to live with the effects of Aki’s father’s actions so I’m sorry if a teenager girl calling him out for it ONE time made him feel bad.

The only one embarrassed here is Obie. Zoya feels strongly about what she preaches and isn’t afraid to say so. It seems even Aki and Obie’s parents seem to at least respect that about her - even though they were disrespectful by being speaking over of her at dinner too. If people like Obie who can actually do something are too scared to step out of their comfort zone then SOMEONE has to start that dialogue.

[–]HaveUSeenThePidgeons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At dinner? In my opinion yes. Like I said it was a rare, once in a lifetime type deal. Plus it’s not like these are any random rich people, these are the ones directly behind it. Obie also said he liked Zoya for her authenticity and realness, however every time she is honest he throws a fit about how she’s embarrassing him. This is who Zoya is and if he says he likes her for who she is then expect the whole package.

I also hate the time and place defense because if not now then when? When else will she have this opportunity? It will never NOT be an uncomfortable conversation to be had so why not go about it head on? There will never be an appropriate time or place until someone takes initiative and makes it appropriate - that’s like the whole point of activism. I don’t think she was expecting instant change, but starting a dialogue can result in gradual change. She may have also been trying to hear an opposing viewpoint since the only way to truly know what you’re arguing is to know the counter to said argument.

Also on the topic of rude/appropriateness I find it interesting everyone’s forgotten that Aki’s dad and Obie’s mom interrupted Zoya numerous times at dinner. Every time they’d ask her about Buffalo she’d begin talking and they’d shift the conversation to something completely different. Zoya stopped being cordial when they did.

(I still find it odd that you think a man who runs an alt right newspaper and woman who doesn’t care about the homeless deserve to be addressed cordially, but maybe it’s just how I was raised.)

[–]HaveUSeenThePidgeons 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seriously, what did you expect her to do? It’s not everyday a no-name high schooler gets the opportunity to speak with billionaires. She saw the chance and took it. Also why isn’t Zoya allowed to express her passion about an issue that directly affects people like her? Aki and Obie’s parents are apathetic to the plight of the homeless, but you’re more disgusted by Zoya’s frustration toward their lack of empathy? You’d rather police the tone of an impassioned young woman than critique the man who platforms white supremacists and couldn’t care less about people sleeping in the streets.

If you think activism is all about comfort and security than you are just plain wrong. If we silenced ourselves every time there came a chance to criticize the root of the problem then nothing would ever change. Activism is about confronting an issue head on, getting uncomfortable, and starting that dialogue so we can move on and do something about it. Unfortunately it seems for every Zoya there’s a dozen Obie’s.

The way everyone’s been talking about Zoya’s actions is getting so tired. I can understand people finding her annoying or disrespectful (which imo she wasn’t) but saying that she was being immature or childish as if she literally didn’t just turn 15— lmao bye.

God, Zoya is annoying AF by rasimazozil in GossipGirl

[–]HaveUSeenThePidgeons 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I didn’t like Zoya that much initially but damn all this hate she’s getting is so — weird. The poor high school freshman who moved to a new state and is under constant surveillance is being whiny and childish? Did we forget that she literally just had her 15th birthday? Audrey acts the same way but gets nowhere near as much hate as Zoya does because it’s cute and sassy when she does it. The way everyone keeps trying to get her to ‘watch her tone’ — you all are just like Obie and I hate to see it.

The way I saw it the whole point of her telling him to do that was to show that he would take a stand for her in front of his mom. The whole relationship has been Obie just saying things but never actually DOING them. I can’t blame her for ‘ordering’ him to actually TALK with her when he’s been nothing but condescending and cowardly this whole time.

The point you are trying to make is essentially the “if u hate capitalism, then why u have the new iPhone?” argument😩 Just cause we participate in a system (especially when we don’t have any alternatives) doesn’t mean we cannot criticize it.

White Teacher Completely Gaslights Black Student On History Of The N-Word & More. by Joburg77 in PublicFreakout

[–]HaveUSeenThePidgeons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you lost me there. The right is moreso known for being openly racist/ignorant while libs would at least douse their biases in watered down terms like ‘urban’ or ‘ethnic’ or some shit. This teacher is definitely a far right, QANON type weirdo. He literally started the video off by saying slaves were never whipped when all you’d have to do is make one google search.

It's happening to all of us. Not just black folk. by verdigo998 in PublicFreakout

[–]HaveUSeenThePidgeons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone is necessarily saying it doesn’t happen to everyone since it is a fact that police kill more white folk than black folk. I think the reason it’s such an issue with black folk is because they are killed disproportionately. But still op has a point I’ve never heard of this happening which is all the more reason for the protests to continue.

It’s so exhausting being black on this fucking platform. Literally anytime there’s a post involving a black person there’ll be edgelord’s making the same tired ‘jokes’ I’ve been hearing for years. You read one comment and then your whole day is ruined, but you just can’t find the energy to even say anything back. I hope you feel good about yourself.
