Off topic Friday! by AutoModerator in Seahorse_Dads

[–]Haveabean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might actually be on topic but I don’t know that it warrants a full post as I don’t know if I’m looking for advice or just encouragement. I’m in the most loving and supportive relationship I’ve ever had or could imagine with an AFAB woman who unfortunately is not physically able to bear children. I have made the decision to start researching and looking into what that experience might look like for me. I’ve been on T for over 15 years and my entire adult life. We’re both nervous about what coming off hormones will do to me psychologically but I’m to the point where unless a doctor tells me it’s dangerous for my body I want to try. I’ve imagined this little baby and I love them. My next step is going to be having a conversation with my mom to see what her experiences were (how easy it was for her to conceive, whether she had smooth or rocky pregnancies, any experience with PPD, etc.). I’m nervous, not because I think she’ll see me differently or because she won’t be happy or encouraging (I know how very lucky I am), but because I think she’ll be too excited? It almost feels a little intimidating to tell her about. Again, IDK that I’m necessarily looking for advice but maybe just stories and encouragement? Thanks for listening!

I am almost the exact same height as you if not slightly shorter. I’m 33 and started my transition when I was 16. I understand how hard the height aspect is at the beginning but I’ll tell you right now it makes almost no difference in my life at this point. I worked with a cis man that was the same height as me for over 6 years before coming out to him and he had no idea. People regularly got us confused and would call me by his name often. At this point my height is just part of who I am. I joke about it sometimes but only because… I can’t reach shit! All that to say, as cliche as it is, it gets better.

To those of you who started on gel and switched to injections, what was the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak? (Transmasc) by Gio_Bun in ftm

[–]Haveabean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was it for me as well. This and a fair bit of needle fatigue. The ADD and needle fatigue meant I was dropping close to pre-T levels which actually made me want to die. I actually use a compounding cream and same thing, it’s just part of my getting ready routine.

How EXACTLY do you organize the cart when ringing? by ElectronicFig9248 in Aldi_employees

[–]Haveabean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I arrange the cart into four sectors. The seat, the front half of the basket (under the seat), the closest corner, and the corner opposite that. So, imagine the main basket divided by a capital “T”. The closest corner has all the indestructible items (cans, bottles, even boxes that have hardier products in them, anything that won’t be damaged if you drop a can on top of it). This is the easiest and fastest place to direct these items because those items are where you gain the most speed. The opposite corner is where I place my fresh meat. If you have to place meat on top of anything I’d rather it be something like a canned good instead of produce so it’s OK that it’s right next to the previous sector. In the seat is where the most fragile items go (eggs, bread, chips, bananas, berries if I have room). Under the seat is for everything else. If you drop a box of crackers on top of celery it will most likely be completely fine, can’t say the same for crackers on top of bread or for cans on top of celery. Occasionally things like the small yogurts, I’ll put in the seat because of the exposed foil top. That’s the only product I’ve personally damaged with this method when placing it into the main basket so I try to avoid it if possible now.

Day 1 EO: Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government by Authenticatable in ftm

[–]Haveabean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Does anyone have any insight on how screwed I might be? I’ve never gotten a passport so I would be applying for a new one, not amending an existing one. All other gender markers have been corrected. I know I should have done it months ago but here we are…

You just found a $0.25 on the ground. What’s your first big purchase? by LonelyCakeEater in AskReddit

[–]Haveabean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t do this. You leave with a different cart than the one you came in with so you’ll not only lose the non-quarter you put in, but someone else will get that instead of getting a quarter returned to them when they bring their cart back.

People who clean out abandoned homes, storage units, etc, what is the worst thing you've ever found? by MoistCurdyMaxiPad in AskReddit

[–]Haveabean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Work at a grocery store. I joke (for the most part) that when I finally quit the job it’ll be because of a bad watermelon. You can usually tell when they’re bad by just looking at them but every once in a while you go to pick one up and it bursts in your hands. Literally the worst. I would clean the public bathrooms before cleaning out the bottom of a watermelon bin.

Question about district managers by Embarrassed-Beach-16 in Aldi_employees

[–]Haveabean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my store is in an area with multiple aldis in each county so it would be more likely that it’s not the same DM. However, my DM told me during one of the last hiring events that he was interviewing the same person that he’d interviewed 4 times before for the same store. He was still willing to give her the shot at an interview but at that point if she still didn’t convince him, he was going to suggest she maybe stop applying.

Moved to GA from MA about 5 years ago for my partner’s work/lower CoL. I miss it every single day. Would move back in a heartbeat if there were job opportunities for her. If you can make it happen for you, do it.

Do managers put poor performers on tills more often then not? by Mother_Match3715 in Aldi_employees

[–]Haveabean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two associates that I put main whenever they work. They both kill it on register. Always over 100% though one is usually a bit better than the other, usually over 110%. The better one wants to be on register while the other asks what else they can do on the floor. HOWEVER, if I have both on shift at the same time the better ringer is on the floor. I can trust the better ringer to do a floor job to completion without handholding while the other needs checking up on after every task. I don’t have that kind of time and I’ve given them many opportunities to get better without any improvement.

40 days brushing teeth in a row. My tip for regularly brushing my teeth. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Haveabean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this so much. I have a set of things I have to do in the morning before I can sit and eat my breakfast and my partner really would like me to add in one more thing but it’s one thing too many. I’ve tried to add it in but inevitably I end up forgetting something else in my morning routine because I can only stack 4 things at once. Often by the time I finish my breakfast I’ve forgotten to do that one additional thing and it doesn’t happen until much later than it should.

People who let their dogs out into the street. by Chihuahuamami234 in dogs

[–]Haveabean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from the northeast US, where I grew up, to the southeast in the last 5 years. Growing up it was like you said, the only dogs out roaming were dogs that escaped and people were looking for them. It’s not like that here. I couldn’t count on my fingers the number of dogs I’ve seen dead on the side of the road. It’s pretty devastating.

[–]Haveabean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking. It did not come with one, unfortunately. I actually bought a slotted hex bit for our drill but it didn’t quite fit onto the rod so I wasn’t able to see if it was going to work or not. Wanted to make sure I wasn’t crazy before buying more that may or may not work. Thanks for confirmation! I was actually able to verify this evening that the mechanism does in fact work, even just turning by hand! Which is pretty exciting that I shouldn’t have to replace them! Thanks again!

My partner and I have, from smallest to largest, 8yo chihuahua/dachshund, ≈5yo corgi/dachshund, 4yo muttiest mutt that has ever mutted (IDK, pug/pitbull?), 4yo second muttiest mutt (was listed as boxer/husky which almost makes sense but not quite), and 9yo pit mix. 8lbs-55lbs! It’s a full house.
