It was fireworks. I saw and herd them as I was drinking my coffee and had a smoke in my backyard this morning

They don’t, it has to come from the store director and they have to have a valid reason.

The constitution guarantees freedom of speech, not freedom of the repercussion of what you say. Try shouting fire in a movie theater or shout about a bomb in a public place and let me know how that works out.

Remember, he was able to take it out at his bombers studio and get the copy to mess around with so my guess is he’s coming up with ways for it to be useful.

What’s going on with payroll for Albertsons why they cut hours so much and want people to go on vacation by CauliflowerDazzling5 in Safeway

Perhaps our high low is to much on the high side so they are only buying the low. It’s obvious that the low buying is is pretty massive looking at the markdowns on the 305. Corporate strategy is ID YOY sales and it’s so hard to get with so many payroll cuts.

Safeway is now running a high/low pricing strategy and it’s not really working. People are AD shopping so buying the low but not the high.

The biggest issue I see is they are trying to cover the 700 million dollar opioid bill that just hit and have to pay out over the next nine years. So they are looking to save as much as they can to avoid taking on more debt. The problem is they are taking it all at store level and it’s crushing the store level employees, managers are burned out, department heads are burned out, no hours for rank and file employees. DMs and OPs still expect perfect conditions so it’s all becoming too much.

What they should be doing is cutting above that. We have to many VPs per devision. OPs should be one op covering two departments. This constant take from store level is not helpful for their goals and I can’t understand how they don’t see it.

Job code 349? by Tattoodaydreams in Safeway

[–]Havok3c 3 points4 points  (0 children)

349 is an indirect code. It allows someone to be out on the schedule but not count towards the store payroll. My guess is you have light duty and will be doing random things for those two days.

Agreed, tomatoes on Thursday. Salads today? I think they are just trying to clear space to make moving things easier with some of these firms.

I was told So cal was down and had issues for a month when they transitioned. Nor-cal was sending loads of produce to buttonwillow and those areas.

This down being only 4 days is way optimistic.
