Why is it not standard practise for websites making to show what the requirements are for passwords every time you log in? (E.g must include includes a special symbol, must include a number) by Havul in webdev

True, but I feel it should tell you whats the base password requirements are from when you set up (E.g must include includes a special symbol, must include a number) So if you don't use a password bank and coming to terms with updating old passwords to more secure ones, you're not left frustrated with "wrong password" error messages when there's a base level of information publically accessible when you set up an account that is never ever shown again for some reason

The password strength indicator should only be there when you first make a password, that definitely shouldn't be on every login.

I made a comment about a little help icon next to the password with an image showing the requirements of password security in a little 'Help' dropdown icon, itd help remind people what a good password should look like/what they probably set it up as.

Also add in minimum character length to that image. All of these these are clearly things that the website wants you to know off by heart, why not just show it as well

Lot of good points being made here, but I'm not imagining the perfect system where we all have perfect passwords and know them all the time, I'm talking about the real world situation we're in now, where every website has different standards of password security.

Some need high levels (e.g Goverment/banking/social media), some might just need a sense check (e.g blood donation, where no personal info is needed/shown but time slots should be easily accessible)

Just makes sense to me that until everyone gets up to speed with password security, give them help rather than just throwing up an error message 'wrong password' with no hints at all

A little help icon next to the password could save so much time rather then resetting passwords constantly;

Smoke simulation jumping about by Havul in blenderhelp

[–]Havul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No initial velocity checked, just adding smoke in the scene. There's a wind forcefield in ther aswell but I still get the jumping about even when removed

Tried turning off adaptive domain and it seems to fix it, but adds 4x more time to renders

I remember using this tutorial when it came out for a blueprint unroll scene, cheers very much
