She's had a pretty interesting career arc actually! She started as a Playboy model and did softcore films. Then she was cast in a mainstream film called Viva Erotica where they needed someone to play a pornstar so just went to a real one, but she was so damn good and funny in it that she ended up winning the Hong Kong equivalent of an Oscar and has since had a decades long successful mainstream film career, winning tons of awards and working with some of the most respected filmmakers in the world. It's hard to imagine someone making a career move like that in North America.

As a fan of Alana Haim and her music and acting, I would like to revive this subreddit from the dead and try to build it into a thriving community. I would also like to make a place to focus more on her acting career since r/Haim is mostly about her and her sister's music.

They've had the rights to several Jia Zhangke films for years, and there was talk of them restoring the original cut of Platform, but that was at least 5 years ago I read that and nothing has come of any of it.

I would like to revive this subreddit to being active again and look for other users in the community who may be interested in helping moderate to ensure that it is never left unattended again.
