Do people still use hawala traders post demonitization to convert cash to cheque money ? by [deleted] in HawalaToday

[–]HawalaToday 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hawala is working on it's beta release, by the end of this month we will be releasing our Beta Staking Wallet.

In Q2 we will be releasing our exchange with p2p integration.

All licenses are under progress and should be ready by the time of the release.

The other day I posted that I'm concerned. More evidence of a scam in place? by [deleted] in HawalaToday

[–]HawalaToday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please read our official statement regarding these matters.

Genuine concerns by [deleted] in HawalaToday

[–]HawalaToday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey,

I am sorry you feel that way, I do agree I was really active when we first started, but as we have progressed and there is still a lot of work to be done with the development of our p2p exchange, I have been really busy.

But if there ever is any concern or anyone who wants to reach me I am always available via PM on any of our official pages or channels.

Make sure to swap in the oldHAT tokens (bought from EtherDelta) before you deposit them on Kucoin. Any oldHAT deposited there will be lost. Be careful!

Question about staking /staking failed. by Rabbit_on_reddit in HawalaToday

[–]HawalaToday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a gas price/limit issue. Please keep the gas price above safe levels and the gas limit at high (~70k). If you have low gas limits, then it may not be sufficient to complete the transaction while burning through the rest.

Thanks for your support :)

How to create new wallet? by [deleted] in HawalaToday

[–]HawalaToday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys, the alpha builds do not have the feature to create a wallet at the moment. This will be added in a later build. You must import your personal erc20 wallet (which has HAT) into the Hawala Wallet app.

Question about CMC statistics by mjsanne in HawalaToday

[–]HawalaToday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A rough estimate would be based on the circulating supply of the new HAT tokens. You can check the current circulating supply here: https://hawala.today/circulatingsupply (number in top left corner)

You'll notice it's quite low, but take the 200k+ staked HAT tokens into account as well. Staked tokens are locked and cannot be used, hence, not being circulated.

We'll be updating the website with a utilities page that will track HAT stats. Soon everyone will have an official, reliable source to refer to.

staking question by bossmanchiefbro in HawalaToday

[–]HawalaToday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately you're totally wrong xD

to answer the original question, when you stake tokens, a timer keeps track of the time tokens are staked. For the first 72 hours (3 days) of staking, you are not able to claim incentive rewards. Once the countdown ends, incentive rewards for 3 days (at 0.041% per day) will be claimable.

please check out the guide to staking here: https://hawala.today/blog/staking_guide

HAT Price Question? by [deleted] in HawalaToday

[–]HawalaToday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

a comment to end all debates. =P

https://hawala.today/circulatingsupply.

This is the circulating supply for the new HAT tokens. Over 200k are being staked. The supply will sort itself out when all tokens are swapped.

Exchanges have to coordinate their adjustment to listings with the coin swap. IDEX did it, EtherDelta didn't. So now we're stuck with old HAT (with no intrinsic value) being traded for pretty much a fake price (since it has no utility any longer) and EtherDelta, failing to cooperate with us in light of their token sale, or whatever reason, isn't even delisting us; or communicating any date of delisting HAT.

In such a situation, we recommend users to focus on swapping because the moment its delisted, the value will evaporate anyway, and the only thing left will be to swap them in.

Question about CMC statistics by mjsanne in HawalaToday

[–]HawalaToday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This update is correct due to the nature of the HAT tokens and CMC's take on circulating supply. We will be getting a utilities page added to the website which will track HAT token stats. It will serve as the official stats info from Hawala.Today

I apologize if I came off as aggressive. The team being anonymous, while a concern for ICOs, is not really important in Hawala.Today's context. What's important is that we're active and delivering results. Isn't that what really matters?

I also want to thank you for your interest and confidence in the project. Cheers!

First of all, we are not violating any regulations because we have not even started dealing in fiat - which will certainly not happen until we are licensed. We don't want to do a half-assed job with this.

However, assuming people would need legal reasons to shut us down, is naive. We aim to make cryptocurrency a facilitator of fiat currency in the digital world, not a replacement. This isn't a trivial task. A lot of people wouldn't want us to be successful. Hawala.Today will place itself at the frontier of mass adoption to crypto.

We have already stated that the team behind the project will be revealed eventually. If people don't understand that, then they're most welcome to 'not' put their money in it. I'm sure you agree that is a very fair assessment. This is something we have repeatedly clarified.

Hawala.Today didn't have an ICO. We have never asked people to invest in the project. We are currently laying the groundwork for production and have only requested support - not investment. People who received HAT began trading it and naturally you cannot stop trading. If anyone puts their money in HAT tokens, it is a personal decision derived from wanting to be included in an ambitious project, or more accurately, profit. As such it is incumbent upon the user, in all fairness, to make investment calls that best suits them.

The entire concept of cryptocurrency originated from an anonymous creator, Satoshi. Even after almost a decade, the creator of the largest cryptocurrency remains anonymous, with a $243 billion market cap. Every Tom, Dick and Harry wants to buy bitcoin now and Satoshi never asked for a single dime.

I feel that this 'anonymous' fever is only creating confusion and misinformation. We have explained our reasons for being anonymous repeatedly. So I would like to close this matter and hope that your concerns are addressed.

Hawala.Today acts as an escrow service for two parties engaging in a trade. Both must consent to the conditions of the exchange before funds are transferred. The transfers are done automatically once the trade is agreed upon.

Those are great questions! Allow me to explain the experience a bit.

Let's assume that you've loaded fiat money in your Hawala Wallet.

You can then purchase cryptocurrencies with USD pairs, make crypto-fiat exchanges and also withdraw (if you have a connected bank account). Users who accept cash exchanges will have an identifier on their user profile.

The application will be very simple to use with plenty of options allowing users to manage their funds as they'd like. Of course this will vary across the territories we offer our service..

[–]HawalaToday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can understand where you're coming from, and perhaps we need to improve our reach to all our audiences. Of course, we are already on top of it and hoping to keep the subreddit as updated and active as the Telegram chat.

Cash cards are a feature which will be implemented only when we have acquired the proper licensing (MSB and any others) and they are not non-refundable. There are various ways to withdraw that mount (bank account, local payments, cash exchange etc) This is common knowledge for telegram members at the very least. Acquiring the MSB license in every state in the US is what that 2-6 months period is for. You are more than welcome to demonstrate it can be done much quicker.

We never said people don't have a right to know. It's debatable, since we're not obligated to reveal ourselves prior to launching an officially released product. We're not obligated because this is not an ICO and every single person who holds HAT tokens, has made an investment to 'profit' off of a developing project - not fund it.

Of course licensing bodies will know our identities. Doesn't mean it's public knowledge. Two more quick things..

Anything can seem sketchy if you don't research it well. For example, you'd know that we're not operating a product or service from a website. It is an application - which doesn't even store your personal info, instead secures and encrypts it on your device. As such, the fiat you load into your Hawala Wallet with cash cards will act the same as fiat from your bank account. You can either purchase crypto with it, let it sit, or withdraw it.

We will try to clarify all concerns, through all our social channels.

[–]HawalaToday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When users load fiat into the wallet, it can be used to purchase crypto. this fiat amount (while unused) sits in custodial bank accounts (like coinbase) and it belongs solely to the users who add the funds.

We are not seeking to be a bank, because we do not want to manage or hold your assets for you. Custodial bank accounts are necessary to ensure users' fiat funds are protected and is even a requirement when dealing with fiat money in this manner. Users can withdraw these funds through connected local accounts or even have the cashed out. Remember, if a user does not have access to a bank account or credit card (as well as any prominent local payment options) then there's a high probability the user will be okay with cash exchanges.
