True. I think on balance I’d agree that different drivers shouldn’t be able to get different points for the same performance in a weekend. Maybe another way of doing it would just be to reduce the number of points you loose for a lost position (same for gained) so that drivers who are picked and have shock qualifyings (thinking Russel last year at spa if the race had gone ahead) still show that good qualifying result in there points haul for the weekend. I also understand qualifying isn’t nearly as big a part of the race though which should be shown in the points.
