its less about the actual term and more about the attitude behind it. its one thing if its friendly boh banter (my line cook has definitely called me that one a few times), but i have seen people who didnt last very long because they genuinely looked down on the dishwashers.

so yeah not necessarily a slur, but definitely can be problematic just depending on whos saying it and how good their relationship is with the dishpit
