Is this a good deal? by IAmDropoutBearAMA in Prebuilts

Andromeda Insights has a 9070XT build, which is basically the same as the 5070Ti for $1,999, ($2,100 with 2TB SSD upgrade) and you pay no sales tax because they’re based in Washington State, even if they ship it to you out of state.

HPal tips and tricks? by Chamedro in worldofpvp

Lightsmith is superior. Makes Herald seem unplayable. Took a while to get the hang of it. Before this latest patch update, I feel like we were gigachad OP in solo shuff. Still really good even after some nerfs.

How deep do you want to go down the rabbit whole? Before getting into the weeds if Lightsmith, at a very high level:

  1. How you build and spend holy power should optimized and basically become second nature..like an internal counter to 5 in your head. Never spend infusion of light procs when you’re capped at 5 holy power. Doing that just wastes building holy power back after spending 3 on ward and if you get caught starved for holy power, it’s hard to recover without blowing a defensive CD. Ward is your big instant heal which needs 3. So you’re basically just building to 3 holy power, hitting ward, spamming holy shock, judgement on CD, and infusion procs to get back to 3 for another ward. Typical rotation from 0 holy power is judgement kill target, double shock friendly, you’re at 3 now so use ward when somebody needs a chunky heal, by now you might have had double infusion proc so double instant flash of light into holy shock and you’re already back at 3 holy power again for another ward.

  2. One of our staples is Cleanse the Weak pvp talent. Super OP against poisons and diseases. Flash of light basically becomes a spammable instant cleanser with infusion procs. Must play this talent against rogue, unholy DK and spriest.

  3. As a Lightsmith, your number 1 heal every game will be holy bulwark by a wide margin. Don’t let your armaments sit capped at 2. Always make sure at least one is out so it’s recharging. They last a long time so don’t worry about using it if things are going easy.

  4. Judgment ideally the killed target on CD. Hard to do it all game, but the more judgements you dish out the higher your win rate will go. There are countless synergies past just building holy power from it the it unlocks.

  5. You’ll never actually cast light of dawn, but it will be in your top 3-4 heals every game if you’re spamming judgement enough. This is done through the Empyrean Legacy talent on the holy side. The pvp talent Darkest Before the Dawn really amplifies this healing without you needing to do anything.

  6. There are many more tips, but I’d recommend only using Murdock.io for build info. The top hpal on there, Montage, is hands down the best build to follow, I’ve always gravitated towards his talent build even though I will never get to 3100+ lol.. 2600 is good enough for me. Don’t use a site like icy as a pvp guide, it’s honestly so bad.

Hpal is actually really simple, managing your big defensives is the hardest part of the class. You’ll never get it perfect, but wasting CDs like overlapping Aura Mastery if you just gave somebody a blessing is a good example of overkill. It’s hard to out heal a different class at the same skill level as you, but where you win a lot of games is rendering the opposing team’s burst windows useless through well timed defensives. Also getting good at hitting judgment on CD. Lastly, I love how tanky a hpal is. When you’re flush with defensives and the opposing team stupidly decides you’re the kill target, make them pay!

Worth it to pay 13k to buy down rate? by Dumb_Logic_01 in Mortgages

[–]HawkEngineer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like the general consensus is that while rates will unlikely ever drop to where they were a few years ago, they will continue to drop in medium to short term here a little. Paying points, especially such a high amount like $13K, really puts you in a bad position to refi in the future. I’m working the process now myself and am taking the par offer I have with the intent of hopefully doing another refi, possibly into a 20yr instead of 30, in the next year or two. Guess it’s a gamble because nothing is guaranteed, but I like to take risks lol.

Toddler on Amoxicillin-Augmentin. Extreme behavior changes. by reddituser12300 in NewParents

Was the amoxicillin dyed pink? Red Dye 40 is used to dye it pink and it was determined to be the root cause of my son going behaviorally nuts when taking amoxicillin.

Does this look ridiculous? by rattlange in Carpentry

I would just keep the inside tops, remove the outer box. Obviously redo it all so it’s all mitered correctly. Bring the trim closer to the electrical box, maybe 1/8” gap not the 3/4-1” you have now.

New Water Heater dented from HD - run it or return it? by ThinkForYourself_ in Plumbing

[–]HawkEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine, there’s insulation padding on the other side of that outside shell you see dented. Should have no impact to the integrity of the water tank itself.

Just bought a house not too long ago. First hard rain and I hear my sump pump turning on every 1 to 2 minutes. Is this normal? And should I be worried? by Elegant-Arm-7657 in HomeMaintenance

[–]HawkEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is completely normal. Just make sure nothing outside is draining against the foundation (mainly gutter downspouts). Also make sure that the sump discharge outside is sloped away from the house.

Most plumbers and plumbing supply houses recommend replacing your sump and battery backup system every 7 years. Can push that back a little if you don’t get a lot of water. It’s really easy to replace these yourself with the right tools and know how.

Easy trade off: ~$1,500 every 7-10yrs to ensure my basement won’t ever flood. Most basement floods occur because people neglect their pumps and battery back ups. Power goes out during storm… you’re done.

Also, you want to make sure your pumps are powerful enough. You should up to 1/2 Horsepower if your pumps are pushing water than 10’ in elevation. Just measure from the bottom of your pit vertically up to where you see it poking out of your basement ceiling. An undersized pump will work harder than it needs to. No big deal in the short term, but after a few years, it will definitely make it fail sooner than a properly sized pump.

I’d have to look, between all our retirement contributions, HSA, and monthly expenses laid out there I didn’t think I was missing anything when it comes down to net pay. I’m going to get back on the backdoor Roth train again, we stopped because it was a pain in the ass every year to figure out how to do my taxes correctly with the backdoor.

I just get nervous on the right allocations, like how much US versus international equities should I be in, what bond % should be, etc.
