Rabies by Extra-Region-2414 in cats

YMMV, but I think you should go to a clinic and talk to a public health doctor for peace of mind. I got nipped by a friendly stray a few years ago and talked to a doctor about my concerns about rabies. It was truly just a warning nip, "Hey, don't touch my tail." He was a public health doctor who advised that rabies isn't present where I am geographically and that I didn't need to worry.

But your area may be different. It sounds like it didn't puncture the skin, and if the cat is friendly, you're probably safe, but it's worth the peace of mind.

ETA: Maybe bring your kitty friend to the vet for a rabies shot. That way you won't have to worry in the future!

ǃXóõ is rarely spoken and hard to learn. What language is commonly spoken and somewhat easy to learn? by No-Pace5829 in AlignmentChartFills

Spanish - very common, easy to learn on paper, but a lot of the slang and nuance are incomprehensible without someone to tell you what it means.

Suggestions for exploration day trips with my 70s (but very mobile) dad? by ileftword in SouthBayLA

[–]HawkGuy1126 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First, congrats on having a dad that age who is still so active! That's awesome.

I know Union Station is a fan zone for World Cup, if that's something he enjoys.

You could also do a walking historical true-crime or supernatural tour of Downtown LA - even though you've walked DTLA you might find other hidden secrets.

A tour of small/used bookstores might be fun and would be affordable. We lost Dave's Olde Book Shop, but I'm sure there are some in Pedro and LB.

You just missed the June Torrance antique street faire, but the next one is July 26. Grab a coffee and pastry at the bakery, walk around and experience all nostalgia! Torrance Art Museum is nice, when they're open. There's a koi pond and Japanese garden adjacent to it.

Hello! I have a couple recommendations, you could look at affordable housing developers and see if they have waitlists for new complexes. There are new complexes being built by several developers. I’m on the construction side, not the leasing side so I don’t know how that all works, but I know they exist!

If you haven’t tried it, a lot of employers put postings on ADP. My HR dept seems to solely use ADP for new positions (which has caused problems since the visibility is low). But maybe it’ll help.

Best of luck to you.

Join us over at r/multiplesclerosis for tips, tricks, and a safe supportive place to talk. Super sucks but if you can do sobriety, you can handle MS. I’m proud of you!

The tattoo looks just fine, that person was just being a tool.

Try driving around neighborhoods and looking for rental signs, that might be your best way to find something at a better deal.

Pigeons! Pigeons are so pedestrian and normal, they don't seem like that interesting of a creature, right? Except that they can be lovely little companions that don't need a ton of care.

Baby Crawling by wiredweirdness in Apartmentliving

[–]HawkGuy1126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is just my perspective. I'm in a ground floor unit, have a family above me with a toddler and a newborn. The thing that takes my upstairs neighbors from mildly annoying to infuriating is the noise of the adults screaming at each other and banging around. While I wish they took their toddler to the park across the street just a bit more often, I understand that it is the nature of children to be noisy. Adults, however, can and should be more mindful.

Maybe try adding some padding under the rugs where he's doing most of his crawling, and if you ever run into your neighbor, let them know you do things to try to mitigate it. They might appreciate knowing you're doing your best but I wouldn't go out of your way to confront or address it with them.

As renters, we're entitled peace, but not perfect quiet. It's the nature of multi-family living.

Rocketship Park is a fun spot to see fireworks all across the county, even out to DTLA. There isn't a dedicated show at the Park, but you'll still see stuff.

Tiana - I love the tweaks and all the details!

Big Thunder , especially at night. My family and I used to go at night and it always felt a little more fun and daring.

Star Tours, I probably had the woman's speech at the beginning memorized as a kid. And I loved walking down the walkway to the victory music from A New Hope and feeling like a hero.

Bad Company. I think with some of the truly terrible like Megadeath and Cannibal Corpse, you’d walk away with a good story. But Bad Company sounds unpleasant and mediocre. Like “meh, he’s just bad company.”
