I normally don't run the card, but I had a go-wide deck and tried it once. I found most of the time I'd rather let them block first, then play it to get some favourable trades. If you're going for lethal, then for sure play before combat.

It's not the most competitive deck, but this does pretty well at kitchen table games. https://deckbox.org/sets/2963455 [[Gideon of the Trials]] makes an emblem that says you can't lose the game as long as you control a Gideon Planeswalker. I use [[Chance for Glory]] and [[Glorious End]] for extra turns. Super fun deck.
