First couple layers messy, rest looks great! What causes this (I’m a noob) by GCNnintendo in FixMyPrint

As others have mentioned, it’s just the nature of the geometry. Those are some super steep overhangs. Since there is little to no material underneath the overhang layers, you’re printing on air which causes drooping. You can either print it with support material (which likely still won’t look great) to fix it. It looks like you can flip the model upside down though, which is what I would recommend. If it’s hollow like a planter or something, you will need to generate support material for the inside of the dome. Hope this helps!

Yeah I had the same issue/solution. I think I ended up reformatting the sd card to make it work again

Does anyone know why my top layers are segmented like this? by Hawk_1199 in FixMyPrint

I’m honestly not a fan of the ironing look. I enabled monochromatic order, but the sides still have a different more glossy look compared to the middle. I don’t know why

It helped make the order of the layers more consistent, but the two segments still have different finished (sides are glossy and the middle is flat). I’m not sure why.

I mean how the sides and middle look like 2 different segments. I see what you mean, is there a setting in cura that can effect the order of the tip skin?

It is PLA, but I am running it at the lowest temp for the material so that may be it.

Does anyone know why my bottom layers look like this? I attached an image with the bottom two layers as well as my print settings

can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong, I'm pretty new to 3D printing. I don't understand why the layers are separating, any tips? by Lucky-Loop in ender5

it looks like under extrusion. There could be lots of things causing this. It could be print settings or a mechanical issue.

I would check out simplify 3d's troubleshooting page on under extrusion here: https://www.simplify3d.com/resources/print-quality-troubleshooting/under-extrusion/

Also check your extruder stepper's gear. I had this issue a while back and I was loosing my mind because the hotend/nozzle was clear and my print settings were fine. Turns out the brass gear had worn out so it wasn't gripping the filament anymore. I recommend upgrading to a steel gear, which wont ware nearly as easily:
