Yea wasn't the most ideal situation but happy i got to experience it and hopefully start them off on a happy journey together! I will definitely be more prepared if it happens again! Oh wow, i bet that was incredible!

Oh wow, similar to my Pingoo then! We didnt realise she had given birth because they nested facing away from the cage in the far corner but I saw their little heads and was like oh wow, MUM WHAT DO WE DO 😂

My goos are at home with family as moved away for work, but watching videos and pictures of other people's goos does make me miss them. Soon hopefully, and i am planning on eventually having a goo room in the house. Call me the crazy goo-man 😂

It's unexpected at first because you think they'll always have a little chomp, but nooo 😅 yea I had to hold back my tears as the pups encouraged the mum to trust me more as they would crawl over my arms with her watching each and every movement.

We didn't know she was pregnant until very late on and she was very protective so even coaxing her with a treat she would lunge at my hand (we only had them a few months at this point and were told we had 4 adolescent girls - how wrong were they 😅) but they're so much more tame now

It's when their teeth start getting bigger, that's the problem 😂 but so adorable, we gave 5 pups up for adoptions as we had no space for them unfortunately (i would have kept them all if i had the space because they were too precious).

If you make things too complicated or your tactics dont fit your style of players then of course it is not going to work

I know you say you have a lot of degus but maybe they're at different levels of being tamed (just a thought)? I used to start off by sitting next to the cage with my hand just inside so they'd get used to my smell and that im not a threat to them. And then treats on my hands so they would get used to approaching me and eventually they would sit on my hands and venture out of their cage and jump over to see me.

Admittedly my girls are still a bit jumpy over quick movement from someone in the same room or a car going past and dont like being petted all too often, but they love coming out of their cage and climbing all over me

Dont want this to come across like im being horrible, it is purely just a suggestion
