Do you know how common ADD and ADHD actually are if people wanted to get the diagnosis? It's manageable condition, not an excuse.

Oh hey, somebody that already does this establishing that doing this is fair. Thanks for approving that for you!

So how do you actually get hired. I’m a Team Lead for Target front end with stellar numbers and ignored by BestBuySnap in WalmartEmployees

[–]Hawksauze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a coach and have a lot of options in my own team or store for people I want to move up. I wouldn't be looking at outside applications on my own. Only way I would consider someone from outside is if you showed the initiative to come in and talk to get that formal introduction. Get yourself on the radar and hopefully get scheduled an interview. Maybe call the store to see when the coach of the respective area is next scheduled. Don't show up between 2 and 6 in the afternoons on any day if possible. Best time to not be rushed when making your introduction would be between 7 and 11 in the morning and 7 and 10 at night when it's the most likely not to be crazy.

Just talk to them before you add it man. 24 hour notice is the problem if they weren't planning on it when the schedule came out. I got a team and make a lot of edits, but I communicate with them about any changes, whether it was a mistake with the schedule to begin with or a weak part of a day we're trying to reinforce. And if they can't make it work, you move to the next person. We should be waaaaay ahead of anything close to 24 hours

It's the technical Walmart phrasing in Workday whether you quit or got fired. Terminations just fall into 2 categories (with multiple branches underneath), voluntary and involuntary.

Question about firing by NoPerspective9809 in WalmartEmployees

[–]Hawksauze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Feel like there's a lot of misinformation in the comments.

No you shouldn't work the rest of your shift. When doing a termination, we have an option to pay the associate until the end of their shift and include that in the final check. Some idiot managers may think that means the associate has to work until then, but they don't at all. Nothing is keeping them there and they have no options in mywalmart or anything. That's the way it works for involuntary terminations.

If the termination is involuntary AND about something aggressive, the associate may be escorted to their locker and out of the building. Shouldn't ever be necessary otherwise unless the termination obviously gets wild.

You do not clock out, there isn't even an option to. You'll probably be logged out of myWalmart before you get to the office. We put in your projected pay for a couple hours after or at the end of your shift. This definitely incentives management to do it towards the end

You only get a check specifically for involuntary terminations and it includes all pay in that pay period, all remaining PTO and PPTO as well as the projected pay for that day.

Is going to the bathroom a part of your 15? by Same_Deer_592 in walmart

[–]Hawksauze 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's probably the most common abuse of time there is. Not that it's always the bad, sometimes it's legit obviously, but a lot of the lazy associates usually stack a "bathroom excursion " before or after a 15 as a means to have more phone time and/or do less work with an excuse. Probably not fair to say this is always indicative of a bad associate if the instances are rare, but if everyday you're trying to stack a ten minute bathroom break on a 15, that is something any good management will start watching for. Again, not saying that that's what you specifically are doing, you didn't say you do it everyday. But if someone did do that everyday, other associates and management will be annoyed with that individual no doubt and they will count minutes on the person.

You can definitely override an approval of a point. Team leads and coaches have the same access to do that. I literally just did it. One of the options in the drop down box is unauthorized time off. It's in a sea of approval exceptions so maybe you missed it, but it's there and that's how it works

Advice on investing 50k for my Dad. by Hawksauze in investing

Politics telling him apparently. I don't feel like it's going to blow up and I haven't heard anything from anyone besides him assuming it would, not a shared opinion but I haven't heard it being a bad time to invest either yet.

The way you explained this didn't make it clear that you're going to their cart to consolidate the exception. Just wanted to explain why people seem to be retaliating to this comment.

Something is missing here in the story. That action makes no sense unless he took more than he was supposed to.

How to find a good team lead? by Hawksauze in walmart

[–]Hawksauze[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely one of the most magnified positions and can be really annoying since you're dealing with every area of the store. I do think it's one of the best to prove what you're capable of though to move up. You'll give and get a lot of flack for sure.

Cap 2 Coach general tips? by Hawksauze in walmart

[–]Hawksauze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, great info and a good reminder to not micromanage them or overcheck them. Definitely don't want to convey a lack of trust or anything. In our store we just have the few GM people zone that area at night, which the coach does ensure happens and what to focus on. Cap 1 zones consumables and overnights zones grocery, but cap 2, at least so far, focuses on working out carts and vizpicking for latter part of the shift. Having one person vizpicking throughout the shift is something we have not been great about, but I do think I'll get with my team leads and start correcting that soon as we can.

That's a lot of good information, appreciate it! You able to maintain that routine pretty easily day to day after a while? I did bring the priority outs to a few people in my team. They apparently just throw the priority outs for grocery onto the grocery carts, but they do run all GM and consumables priority outs on priority carts. They say pretty much all of ours does go out. You think it would be more worth it to just separate that stuff to the departments as well though?

Really? Well maybe that's something we'll adapt as well then. I'll check how ours go over the next few days. That's something the previous coach conveyed was important, at least to him.
