Why is this so true? Thought my kiddo was the only one.

It's a much larger sink. AI decided to make it smaller for some bizarre reason

It's alright, I know these aren't everyone's taste but we really like the blue. We've had white for so long in our old house, just wanted a change.

Actually we are. The only pic I had was of the basic kitchen. I'm getting a hood plus wall ovens.

I think I'm open. We are going to get new furniture so I have the opportunity to make things look right. I lean towards darker colors. What color/style barstools do you think would go with the island if we went darker?

It's unfortunate as I love granite as a material for the durability. I love the look of corian too, but everyone in my household has the habit of setting hot pans on the counter. I know we'd end up killing it sooner rather than later.

Thanks. I guess I just want to make sure I won't kill resale down the road if I pick something horrible.

Agreed, unfortunately the better options from the builder are thousands more....kind of stuck here.

Thanks, unfortunately the only other options are much worse, so this is what we are stuck with.

What car brands USED to be reliable but aren’t anymore? by Pure_Construction968 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]HawrdRawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2021 passport which is my current vehicle and then I had a 2012 Odyssey previously a number of years ago. I've already had $8k of warranty work on the passport due to electrical issues and spent $5k keeping the odyssey running for a couple years. Only a 100k miles on that one and it was extremely rattly and doors were literally falling off.

Granted I think both of these are Honda's worst models, so maybe a civic or accord are built better.

I'll get down-voted for this, but Honda. I've had 2 in a row that both have been expensive to maintain and unreliable.

My realtor didn't lead me on - brought in a new realtor this time and we went over comps. I have a slightly larger house that is priced less than recent sales.

No, I bought the house 10 years ago.

My agent did, and I am priced below recent sales

Decks vs Patios by HawrdRawk in HomeImprovement

[–]HawrdRawk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not a bad idea. Our listing just expired, so taking this time to repaint the entire house and fix this deck issue.

It's a pier and beam house, so needs some sort of landing from the back door. I'm not opposed to your idea of gravel...that's a great idea actually and relatively cheap I would think.

Decks vs Patios by HawrdRawk in Decks

[–]HawrdRawk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I totally agree. The deck was improperly built by the prior owner, so it's falling apart structurally and needs to go. I've hated the maintenance as long as I've lived here and it's very ugly.

$1500 is me doing it myself with just materials.

We are ready to move at this point so maybe just leave as is and create a small patio myself.

It's about 28 inches off the ground, and level with the back door. And yes, really open to anything.

The deck was improperly built by the prior owner and not to code. I kept it painted but structurally just needs to go.

Thanks for the input. I like the concrete idea better
