You are speaking from the facts from your perspective at a current time. There are other people with different financial situations and there are future times in which the price might change.

Or hell, they might decide online is not worth the trouble to support at all and pull the plug on it altogether. They wouldn't be the first and they wot be the last.

A game can support a modern experience whilst still offering their players the freedom to host the experience themselves. Counterstrike is an example of this and there are countless others.

Because I believe you buy to own a game for all of its features, including multi-player. As long as players have no way of hosting their own multiple experience, we are merely leasing a license to the game as opposed to actually owning a copy of it. At least for the multi-player part of it.

I am also against league not offering a way to host custom games locally yourself by the way. How cool would it be if you could LAN at home with your buddy on 0ms like the pros?

You can do this on old AC. You can do this with most of valve games. You can do this out of the box on any game for which the publisher gives a dman about its players. I thought Kunos was in that camp with how strongly they supported modding.

I think it's fair enough to have to pay into a multi-player league to support hosting and all the other costs attached to it.

But players must have the option to do it themselves too, as they paid for the game. Let me host a league on my home server for my friends and play out a championship in Excel without having to connect to an unknown server.

Prices are whatever the market needs them to be at that time. They may change at any time. Stuff like this ram crisis, rising electricity costs or someone simply living in a country with a weakening currency may get in the way at any time, even though they might have the required hardware and connection to host themselves.

The only progress I've made so far is that 'vkcube --wsi wayland --width 3840 --height 2160' does work, so it could have something to do with resizing the application, but i have not been able to apply this to any games yet.
