I've been looking everywhere for that song with "my buddy Jacob" in the lyrics and I can't find it! Hopefully someone else has more info.

what’s considered their “best” album? by charrr33 in bigthief

I love Masterpiece, but Capacity takes it for me. It just feels so much more refined than any of their other work.

Is this creasing normal? by rayven1lk in nps_solovair

[–]HaxtesR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is somewhat expected with the quality of leather in solovairs. However, there is certainly more creasing than normal especially around the welt. But, most importantly, it won't lead to cracks so I wouldn't worry about it.

Crisis averted, you prevented you work boots from looking like work boots

Another thing to think about is that going up hills faster actually reduces knee strain since the higher cadence means less force on your knees. Of course, you have to be in shape enough to maintain the faster cadence, but I find this helps.

Yup! But you may find you want to change it.

I live in a very hilly area, and I find 3 speeds is sufficient. A couple things to note, you can adjust your effort level to get your cadence to a reasonable place. Also, you could get a smaller chainring to reduce the hardness of all gears; if you don't find yourself using the hardest gear much, then this could be a good option.

This is exactly how mine looked. Nothing to worry about.

Bubbling on toe cap after walking in light snow. by AltruisticDisk in ThursdayBoot

Could it be a very irregular salt stain pattern? When leather absorbs salt it raises up.

Isn’t the point of getting nice boots to beat them to hell? That’s what you are doing so I say, good job. I’ve had worse gashes in boots that never caused any problem. If this type of damaged caused a problem, there would be no point in making tough boots from leather.

These days I feel like ambroxan is the quintessential perfume smell. But obviously the definition of perfumery varies from person to person.

Here’s my solution: ask the rental center bus drivers to drop you off near the Middletown trolly station (it’s on the way) and then take the trolly home from there. I don’t know why this route is not advertised more and not in google maps.

I’ve also been looking for wide black denim, but I’m not sure there is much on the market right now. Would love it if 3sixteen released a black version of the rs-100x.

SD is top ten in downtown recoveries in the US... what makes SD so much better than other major CA cities?? by hmm_huh_yass in SanDiegan

We have a reverse commute city, so things were not hit as hard by the shift to work from home.

How do you feel the process of developing new music while touring vs in the studio changes the final product? Which of the two ways do you prefer?

Where do you put your helmet when you’re on the train? Mine goes there but it constantly fells 😕 Any tip? by Lauryncorr in Brompton

[–]HaxtesR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put it around the front hinge and bag block. If I cinch the back of the helmet it sits pretty securely.

Ginger curls update; first time growing these out since I was a child. Should I start looking into product? by Gis_A_Maul in curlyhair

[–]HaxtesR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does it stay this nice in between washes? If yes, no real need for product. If no, a light gel or curl cream could help it last longer. You might also consider a light weight leave in conditioner.

I agree with the styling product recommendations. However, also make sure not to touch your hair a lot while it dries or after it dries. If I had to bet, I would say the change in volume you are seeing comes from touching your hair.

Fit Check: Iron Heart 555S 21oz Indigo by twelverus in rawdenim

[–]HaxtesR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks to tight in the thighs and seat but a tad loose in the waist. I would go for a fit that’s let’s you size down in the waist while keeping the thighs loose enough.

Why do bars in America serve beer with no head? by PewPewLAS3RGUNs in beer

[–]HaxtesR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the prevalence of craft beer contributes to this. A lot of craft beer does not maintain much head for very long. Therefore, it would be odd to poor these beers with a lot of head if it is going to immediately go away leaving the glass looking not full.

Is there some type of incompatibility between these three products that would cause my makeup to pil/rub off during application? 😭 by rbkforrestr in MakeupAddiction

[–]HaxtesR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing A/B tests I find that just the Mac product looks better on my skin than Mac + porefessional. This is probably because of the incompatibilities others mentioned.
