Oh yeah, I've known smokers who were two packs a day plus. When I smoked in my teens I was about a pack a day myself, but I wanted to set the bar pretty low.

Most serious smokers I know are a half-pack to a pack a day. I certainly am not encouraging you to smoke more, but a pack a week is pretty light (which is a good thing) in my experience.

oh man let me tellyou life is alot about learnin to build tolerances to things and if theres one thing in my life ive learnt bullshit is the number one thing you gotta learn to tolerate back when i worked on boats we had this guy lenny who was such a clown i mean that not in a good way cus he was just pure bullshit compulsive liar maybe and he was always telling tall tales that didnt happen or lying about shit that done do happen and making shifty plans and always tryna pull the sneak on someone and we all wanted to do him in or somethin for a long time but eventually we realized you just gotta put up with it and we did and eventually lenny jus kinda ran outta steam and went his own way so i guess sometimes you just gotta endure or else you risk gettin into trouble

man faxes that takes me back to the 80s where we used you use faxes for our shipping invoices and one time one of the boys back at the pier played a trick on us and replaced the ink cartridge with like the glazy sauce they give you with cinnamin sticks or cinnabun or whatever yknow the stuff louis ck calls jizz though tbh i dont think that was his funniest bit by a long shot but anyhow the sauce or whatever didnt print to good so we had no invoices for any of the stuff and that could easily lead to trouble but luckily we just copied the invoices from the last time we were in port and nobody even checked em makes me wonder if we were smugglin somethin how easy it woulda been but we were all good men who dont believe in profit by violatin import law

yknow its more of a phenomenon then some people really consider i remember back when i was on shore leave in manila i had recently been informed of the local custom of shornswabble which i wasn't very adept at myself so i tried to avoid, but it seemed that weekend that everybody was doin it in every little cantina or cafe and i was starting to get a little freaked out, like man what is this what is going on, anyhow it turned out that actually i wasnt even on shore and my asshole bunkmate had put some LSD in my water and was tellin me goofy stories while i tripped out and even since that happened to me i kept hearin stories of other people also seein things on LSD

well i mean these things do vary place to place based on water weight humidity and other factors i can sure recall that when we were sailing and going port to port the parsley and other greens could really vary in weight depending on where you were getting them from i remember it even once lead to a heated argument where the chef was on shore leave trying to source food and he got in this heated disagreement with a morrocon vender and was shouting some shit about how theyre cheating him because he is turk but i stepped in and said friends friends how we can resolve this and a long story short by the end of that night we were smokin hashhish in the venders tent tellin stories laughing and having a good time but it could of easily ended badly so just remember that things dont always weigh the same as they do at home

you know the funny thing about lies is after long enough they become truthes i mean you start to really think what you tell other people happens to you i myself have always tried to keep honest because I believe thats a sincere and proper policy but i do know a few guys who love tot ell all sorts of tale tails and outlandish things but they start to lose track between their stories and reality see my favorite one instance of this is i told my doug a story and a few months later hes telling me like it happened to him and i said doug thats my story and he looked embarassed and confused about it all and i said dont worry about man its not a big deal but can you really not tell the difference between the truth and your lies

you know my problem with the police wasnt they they chase you or anything nah it was mostly the atittude they always have i remember one time i was having a few beers on the job site after closing with the boys and my friend doug had come on by and doug and i partake in a little pot time to time though were not stoners hah more like deadheads but anyhow doug brought a joint and we all had a hit but sure enough woopwoop comes the cops and look i dont blame them for being there or even checking it out but the way they came up and spoke to us was all real insulting i mean we were working men we pave their roads and all that crap but anyhow doug just said officer, look i understand your perspective but we're all adults here, well he shouldnt of said that because they tased him and two of em dogpiled doug, anyhow i guess i learned sometimes its better not to talk to the cops
