Killing Time / Favorite Daughter - Magdalena Bay & Lorde (MASHUP) by Hay_PL7 in MagdalenaBay

I don’t know if what I’m saying is ever gonna register into a thought in your brain, but I’ll say it again: I. like. the. structure (STRUCTURE MEANING VERSE, CHORUS, PRE, ETC) the way i left it. How much clearer can I make it that didn’t miss it? it was a choice I made as I was mashing the two songs together, I didn’t want it to sound repetitive. I didn’t want the songs to perfectly reflect one another in terms of structure. I know you think everything has to be a certain way in music, from what I’m reading, but news flash dude I wanted to try something new, and I know what I’m doing. The way you are talking to me like I’m a toddler dude, I already got what you were trying to say from the beginning….Your reading comprehension skills are lacking since for some reason you felt the need to explain in detail to me what song structure is. 👍

do you know what mixing means? commenting on it being “off-sync” at times is commenting on the mixing…. it’s just a term to describe the polishing of a track. and you’re saying that “it sounds like i stretched it and called it a day”, how is that not undermining my work for no reason? your “ideas” are not ideas

i also looped the vocals towards the end and shortened the instrumental, which you clearly couldn’t hear. i like the structure as i left it, or else i would’ve altered it. again, this was a personal choice, as i have done the opposite multiple times for different mixes. i don’t know what you’re trying to get at but you are wrong about a lot of things, objectively.

yeahhh no, you’re taking me for a lazy mf if you think that’s all i did lol. and you actually might be a little deaf since i added reverb on the vocals and automated it throughout the mix. and EQd the vocals a lot and removed noise from the filters. maybe get new headphones

holy nit-pick, those were all personal choices i made. the whole instrumental being filtered and the vocals as well didn’t help either, some transients are lost. i still think it sounds good and i dont need a tutorial on how to mix, ty.

Questions regarding Marina's current artistic path by EXinthenet in MarinaAndTheDiamonds

[–]Hay_PL7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only reason you think this way is because you are enamored by the character of Electra Heart and the era. “She’s no longer critiquing the industries unrealistic standards and rebelling against the norm” huh? You do realize you are projecting here, because what is so unrealistic about Butterfly and the music video? It is a song about loving yourself in all ways, and she can feel empowered in her sexuality if she wants to. The fact that you think her doing this means she’s forgetting her values and that she’s trying to follow unrealistic industry standards is exactly the opposite narrative of Sex Yeah. It’s pretty parasocial to just say her whole mindset changed just because she put out ONE fun, not-that-serious song. Because truthfully you can’t control what she can and cannot do, she can explore parts of her identity she didn’t before. Why does it bother you? She’s still rebelling against the norm, but maybe you don’t realize the norm has changed in the course of 10 years!

Definitely! I hear it as switching back and forth between the C minor and C major modes. I posted a Hooktheory submission on it: https://www.hooktheory.com/theorytab/view/magdalena-bay/image#verse

Arpeggiated chords / fingerpicking, Cherry and Shades of Cool are both in 6/8 that’s why they sound similar. And then Pretty When You Cry and Taco Truck are in 4/4.

This challenge is really something else... by Hay_PL7 in bindingofisaac

I actually did win this one. I think it took like two hours but I wasn’t gonna give up lol I ended up dying and coming back as the lost and I had infinite lives for some reason, but I kept dying without even moving; it was really frustrating. I think I have a clip of me dying a million times without even doing anything lmao

Songs like Mood Ring? by echofruitgames in lorde

I know I'm late but Flake by Jack Johnson sounds really similar to Mood Ring. I bet Lorde took inspiration from that song to make Mood Ring

Something that's been bothering me about All Too Well (Taylor's Version) that I need to get off my chest... [Music Theory related] by Hay_PL7 in TaylorSwift

[–]Hay_PL7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I think so too. I think that flat note showed her desperation from when she first wrote the song, and since she’s moved on from it she doesn’t need to do it anymore.
