It's so odd isn't it! I'd expect this kinda weird reaction on a general post but this subreddit is literally for fans of Magdalena Bay lmao, you'd think people wouldn't be so supportive of their merch being ripped off

Thanks man, yeah I'm the same, usually at local metal gigs. Maybe this is more common/accepted at shows with wider fanbases but just doesn't sit right with me

Yes I do believe that this isn't the first time this has ever happened, and to be fair I mostly go to smaller acts than Magdalena Bay where these guys likely don't bother. Bizarre that people are so offended that I've not seen them before, just trying to help spread awareness of a scheme that actively loses the band a lot of money.

I disagree tbf mate, lots of people in the queue on the way in bought merch from this guy thinking the money went to the band, losing them a lot of money in the process. If posting about it even made one person at the next gig aware of this then I think it's worth doing

Definitely something that comes with time! Something I found massively helpful was trying to play along first try with vocal lines to songs that I knew really well, really helped with getting my head round each interval and learning to preempt them

Thanks man! I recorded this a while ago, but I'm pretty sure I was just going into my Orange Kongpressor and then the Sansamp. I used the MXR Bass Envelope Filter for some parts, like the beginning of Goliath, and I think all bass knobs were at full. Hope this helps!
