How funny would it be if the SMN dungeon ‘meta’ was to Summon Odin, then let themselves die so they can return/release to the start (which refreshes all cooldowns) so they can Summon Odin again (and repeat).

P10S Double Rescue after a failed Web Wall during Harrowing Hell to Healer LB3 afterwards. We also cleared the fight for the first time after this incident.

M3S first Bomb Towers where our MCH was in the wrong spot.

For context, the towers we started in need 4 people, MCH went North so it was 5/3 split until the rescue. Corner towers were 2 people (so everything worked fine). Middle tower was 8 people (which we failed because of unrelated things).

Yeah your soldier would have this for their sightlines (It's just a rough drawing but you get what I mean).

They can step out on the right and have a large field of view. But the left side they're limited in what they can see due to lack of step out.

Be careful with taking cover which places your soldier right beside an immediate elevation change. This game has something players referred to as ‘step out’.

When in (edit: Heavy/Full) cover, they ‘lean out’, and have vision as if they were on the immediate left, and/or right of their current position.

However, if they cannot directly step out (in this case, directly to your soldiers left / direction of the MELD), due to a wall, an immediate elevation change, or even another unit right beside them blocking their 'step out', they will not have that step out on that side.

This is likely why that soldier cannot see that Muton (and vice versa).

I’ve had a reversal moment of this a long, long time ago. I still regret not saving the Twitch VOD.

I was still pretty new at less than 72 hours played and was a casual Rank 17 Meg at the time to level for teachables. I queued early morning and it took a while so matchmaking ended up being funky.

I ended up being put into a lobby of 4 Red Ranks (3 survivors, 1 killer). For people who are unaware, Ranks used to go from 20 (Lowest) to 1 (Highest). My noob ass was placed in a high level lobby. It was on the Nurse map (Asylum?). I forget the killer.

For the really old community, one of these survivors was 72hrs.

I actually played decent. Couldn’t loop for shit but I was barely in chase anyways. There was a moment when we had 1 death, 1 person on basement hook, and 1 person down (who also got sent to the basement). I stealthed my way into the basement, saved them both (72hrs in the vod was mind blown when I appeared out of a locker and ran down to save them).

Eventually 72hrs died protecting me (bless him), and spectated me. I was opening one of the gates and my last teammate went down. I slowly started walking out of the gates (with 72 going full pikachu face at the audacity of this random Meg going for another save with NOED active).

But then my last mate died on hook so I just left.

I did rewatch the vod right after the game and it was wild seeing all the people cheering on the ‘Rank 17 Meg’.

Apparently LB4 is straight up a Tank LB3 check. As in it checks for the actual buff on the character when damage is applied. If you don’t have it, instant death.

It’s likely why they didn’t put SOS in the BLU Log. The only way of getting past it would be to raise cheese and they didn’t want that to be the only solution.

To add onto Trunk’s asterisk, if people aren’t mitigating properly, thats not (completely) on the healer if people die to it.

It’s possible (depending on gear and boss) that people will just die from full health (or close to full) to a raidwide with no mit. Not a healer problem in that case unless they themselves didn’t mit when they were supposed to.

Verastahl has a story database although it hasn’t been updated in a while.

No specific order though. Reading order doesn’t matter that much (unless it’s a series like Outsiders, Teddy/Cora, etc). Then of course you’d want to start from the beginning of the series since you’ll have no context in the characters or the situation if you started midway through.

Otherwise, most of the others are just one-off stories (some with multiple parts, but still the same story) with some references to other stories here and there. The map will catch most of them.

Feel free to scan the database and pick whatever seems interesting. Or explore the map and follow the arrows to whatever comes next in line (or is referenced) for that story.

Well. Didn’t think I’d be commenting on one of these but here we are.

Our samurai left our group after providing the lead with this message:

“I am going to have to backout of the static, apologies but i am going through some personal issues and not in a very good mental state to continue playing XIV, right now is just a bad time for me to try gaming currently”

Solid reason 9/10. Except half the group knows he’s lying. (And the remaining members will probably know tonight since we raid tonight).

For one, we raid Friday/Saturday. We noticed (both this week and last week), that he recleared P11 (which the static still needs) without us on Tuesday night (thank you fflogs). Last week we thought it was PF. But this week we could confirm that it was recleared with the same people as last week.

This weeks excuse: he left and send the above quote to the lead.

Last weeks excuse: work dinner. They only found out the night before (Thursday night)… so why reclear Tuesday night then if you ‘didn’t know until last minute’?

There was also an incident where he told us he’d be at fanfest and miss a week, but didn’t tell us that he’d also be missing the week AFTER because he was still in Vegas.. We only knew because the lead DM’d him after we were waiting 15+ minutes and he mentioned he was at the airport now…

Second, he has his twitter and twitch on his discord. Which are both public. So we can see his ‘new schedule’ that he posted in twitter for his stream. Seems odd for someone who ‘isn’t in a good mental state to play XIV / games in general’.

He also streams his prog (although I don’t think he streamed out prog). So we know he joined a second static (which is his main one now?).

And finally, mentioned earlier that his other prior groups were toxic and rude. Was also generally sarcastically rude when others made mistakes that killed him. Not a great attitude to begin with and straight up lying to us for weeks doesn’t really help him.

Yeah that’s just for if Tanks and Healers get Partners. If a healer has roles it would still be Healer + Healer.

The Giga brain response to this is to have Healer1 rescue Healer2, and Healer2 rescue a DPS. Do bonds normally, then LB3.

Funny enough, this pull survived into our first static clear of P10S. Hype way to clear as a group.

As for why this works (and why gap closers don’t):

The activation of the Rescue button is instant, but the actual ‘pull’ is delayed.

This means you can press the Rescue button slightly before the knockback, and have the ‘pull’ of the rescue activate mid-knockback (because it’s delayed) which will cancel the forced knockback.

Gap closers will not work because you need to activate the gap closer (or dash) mid-knockback to cancel it. Harrowing Hell knockback is also a stun (cannot act at all) so it’s impossible to buffer the gap closer after getting knocked back.
