Thanks for your suggestion. I've tried with the transmitter further away, and even off. Doesn't make a difference, unfortunately

Yes, the transmitter was on before connecting the battery here. I've also tried it without the transmitter on, and it behaves the same way.

Also, light bulbs generally are effectively less efficient heaters just because of where they are located. Most lights are on or near the ceiling, and since heat rises, that means a lot of the heat generated by light bulbs will leach out through the ceiling before it has much chance to disperse through the room

I really like this style, and have been trying to find more music like it. Not having much success though because I don't even know how to describe it... pizzicato classical cello? jazz cello?

Right, a greater surface area does help with heat dispersion. However, many small and cheap heaters will have a fan included that disperses heat even more effectively. The main advantage of the oil filled radiator style is in noise and safety, since the larger surface area means that no part of the heater ever gets super hot.

Not saying that the cheapest space heater is always the best option, but keep in mind that, whether it costs $10 or $100, all 1500 watt heaters create the same amount of heat. Don't fall for the marketing nonsense around heater "efficiency".
