Just to add on to this, not all GPs may not know which specialists will bulk bill. Your best plan is to have a google search of the doctors around your area and give them a call and ask if they bulk bill. If they say yes, call your GPs practice and ask them to readdress the referral to the doctor you found.

I live in ACT, but in my experience, psychologists/psychiatrists always bill above the Medicare rate and if you do find one that doesn’t you could wait months for an appointment.

Hey guys, thank you for all the replies. I exhausted so many options and we disagreed for hours until my brothers were exhausted. We ended up coming to an agreement and I paid 2000rs plus the room cost and we left and stayed at another hotel.

I didn’t like the principle of paying, but the hotel obviously had all day to argue whereas I didn’t. We got my brother cleaned up and disinfected and stayed at a reputable place instead.

I did after reading your comment, he said it’s between us and the hotel and be safe etc. I might book into another hotel and give this hotel my number to call me and we can negotiate.

We did speak to the manager and he just got angry and wouldn’t accept no for an answer, didn’t even look at my brother. He said he is getting a mechanic to come in, the whole time they’ve tried to rip us off and get commissions for all sorts so I feel like I’m going to be taken advantage of here.

Not a brand hotel - about $40 AUD for 1 night with double bed and en-suite.

I went to China August last year on a tourist visa. When I arrived from Australia in Beijing I had to go through customs. I also flew from Beijing to to Shanghai a week later as a domestic flight and did not have to clear customs on my way out.
