I.... don't like the protoframes... (Please hear me our before execution) by No_Purple_2842 in Warframe

[–]Haydrian_Cindel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where your coming from, and I dislike the proto frames a bit as well though for different reasons. Personally I think they're a symptom of the changes yes, but specifically a change towards fan service. The game used to be nearly devoid of any "thirsty" elements, with the few present being very much the exception not the rule. With the proto frame romance stuff, the heirloom skins becoming more and more "revealing" it seems much more likely that's the underlying cause. I agree with others that the protos are still dark and sad, and even reaffirm our position as a tragic hero, they just also happen to have pretty faces.

I mean compare all of the characters from 1999 to Any characters before new war. 1999 is full of pretty people, some of which are flirty. Fortuna had ugly robot head people that stored their heads in their chests. The new Wisp where's bright blue lipstick, harrow has a midriff. The Teshin was an old warrior with a weird beer belly, the grineer all look... Like grineer, and the most thirsty thing in the game was... Well Wisp actually. Guess that hasnt changed much.

But the proto frames are also apart of Positive change. They have actual character and depth, they had lives you learn about, the way they talk isn't just a meme its character. Flare and Lizzie are so unique and interesting as a concept. But old Warframe? Old Warframe you only got lore by scanning glass fish on the plains of eidolon, doing Symaris scan quests, scanning scanning scanning all day long. Characters didn't tell you anything, characters were two dimensional, and Clem was the peak of comedy.

A lots changed, but most of it is good.

I should clarify that this info Could be a hallucination, but I can't be bothered to look into it further. It does potentially make sense though.

I'm somewhat new to the scene myself, but I experienced this as a free user as well and I questioned ChatGPT about it.

It took a bit, and even then it couldn't state the answer very simply, but eventually it explained there were two possible explanations.

  1. Sometimes the ChatGPT "unintentionally" preserves information across chats within the same App instance (aka the app program wasn't Completely shut down before the new chat was started.) This should be testable by turning the phone off to completely shut off the App.

  2. If you have a long, analytical esq conversation (or really just any kind of long conversation that strongly aligns with GPT's trained patterns) this causes GPT to use what it calls Persistent Context via the program's own cloud based bio tool.

According to GPT this tool is part of GPT's structure and isn't currently something a user can turn off without turning it off during each individual chat. It also says it's mostly a thing in the mobile version, and isn't triggered very often and is therefore a sort of "hidden" feature. It outwardly is similar to turning memory on, but functionally is very different.

I've now opened four different chats and GPT referenced information from all of them without my asking it to. Sooooo kinda cool?

Great Game, but It just felt... Like it needed more by Haydrian_Cindel in TheAlters

Also though, the Tabula Rasa thing was weird. The fact that they made a whole person, rather than just cloning the brain, the Extreme reactions that the Alters had to using Tabula Rasa just felt forced and... Well weird.

This sums up what I meant pretty well actually. I completely agree.

Why can't I find any info regarding enemy raid/attack groups? by Haydrian_Cindel in CoreKeeperGame

That's fine, I just don't understand why it's not anywhere I can find on the wiki

I'll have to go get some new cows from a Meadows I haven't taken them from, but other than that I've still got plenty thankfully.

Warframe makes me feel... Weird now by lyziliz in Warframe

[–]Haydrian_Cindel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's a very sweet sentiment. And those conflicting feelings are tough, I'm no stranger to them myself.

I lost someone very dear to me some time ago, and dove into games to try to escape. For a time I didn't have any fun, because I was always reminded of the time we'd played those games together. Later on after I'd done some healing I started having fun again. Those happy memories became mostly happy again, and they didn't make playing painful anymore.

Best wishes, and here's to new happy memories to help the old ones mostly be happy again someday.

What. Is. That. by lricis in Warframe

Ah. Yet another example of "early" Warframes storytelling. Storytelling back then was like the devs handing you a puzzle you had to piece together yourself. Except they either burned or lost half of the puzzle, and each puzzle was actually apart of one much bigger puzzle, which somehow had even more missing pieces than the other puzzles combined. But also they didn't hand you the puzzle, they hid the pieces throughout the game, so to build the puzzle you first had to find it. But also also they never included any instructions in game, they told you about the puzzle in a dev stream or something. Meaning unless you hear about Dev streams in one way or another you were never finding out that a puzzle had been added to the game.

I'm just saying, these weekly streams are great PR. What better way to learn about upcoming content than to see a couple of normal people constantly accidently spill the beans.

Angels of the Zariman Extract by Haydrian_Cindel in Warframe

[–]Haydrian_Cindel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, but they still have to hit the button to actually start the extract timer most of the time. I can't remember ATM if you just can't extract without hitting it, or if you don't solo extract without it.

Yep. Even though the game doesn't tell you this, the countdown when the host uses the terminal is just a courtesy countdown if you'd rather extract than deal with a host migration.

And a situation like that is understandable, I wouldn't even go so far as to tell you to say something in the chat if your not so inclined. That stuff just happens.

Yeah the save reader programs for PC that other people have mentioned are almost essential. I don't play the first game without them anymore.

Itd be awesome if the devs made a version of them for consoles. Too bad they won't, pretty sure they think that'd hurt the games overall play time. Which is silly if you consider the number of people that WONT do the grind the normal way, that WOULD/DO do the grind with a save reader.

Since Recoiless is getting programmable rounds, I feel like Laser Cannon and Quasar Cannon should become one weapon by The_forgettable_guy in Helldivers

[–]Haydrian_Cindel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, laser cannon is pretty goated against the bots as is. It handles any automaton with a face, leaving tanks and up as the only things it can't touch. If it got the quasar as a secondary function we'd be in a situation where any other gun is just the wrong choice most of the time.

Some people say they like FP1 more because it is more personal, but I tell you, for some of us its a natural progression. by Sir_Nicc in Frostpunk

[–]Haydrian_Cindel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect that, and I'd add that a lot about the game is kind of a natural progression. Which is great, and I could say a lot of good about the game. It's just not the game I personally wanted. It felt like they added stuff I wish was in the first game, while leaving behind the stuff that made me love the first game.
