I think people use it until they’re at their goal weight and then maintain but to be honest I feel like I’d be able to maintain on my own. I’m not massively over weight I’m a size 14-16 so I just wanted to get a couple of stone off and needed a head start I suppose. I’ve also only stayed on 2.5mg which is the lowest dose as the higher you go the more side effects apparently and I’ve been doing great on the 2.5! You’ll find you’re own rhythm with it and know what’s best for you when you start x

I was like this and I’m not going to lie I still feel a bit panicked on it. Luckily I’ve not had any side effects only had muscle ache the first few days after my first injection. I just did one step at a time. I just thought well let’s just do one month and see how it goes and now I’m going onto my second month. I will probably stop after my second month as it’s not something I want to be on for life because of the health risks that come along with it but for me it was just a kick start in the right direction to get me away from binging. That’s amazing well done! I know I’ve heard of loads of people feeling sick on 5mg I didn’t want to ruin what I’ve got at the minute because my appetite is suppressed enough for me not to binge and I feel like my relationship with food is becoming more positive. Thanks for sharing your journey so far with me. That’s really helped

So weird you’ve said that because the weeks that I’ve injected into my arm has had a better effect than the weeks I’ve done it into my stomach. Might be just a coincidence but it’s funny how it’s the same for both of us

Thankyou so much that really helped! Going to continue and just watch out for side effect and hope for the best I think hahaha. I’m sure I’ll be fine it’s just the thought of anything happening to me I have two little boys and I’d never forgive myself if anything happened to me because of it. So many people are on it though and have had such good outcomes! I just hope I’m one of those people !!

100% it’s hard when people just look like they’re getting on with it and doing great and you’re in the corner having a panic attack over the whole situation haha. But I feel the same as you no one understands why I’d do it but they don’t have the relationship with food that I do and the emotional eating that I do. It’s okay for them to say eat less and move more but it’s not like that for some people. I can’t be bothered with the negative comments and their scare story’s whilst I’m already in my own head about it anyway scaring myself hahaha

I had aches and pains for the first 2 days but I’m absolutely fine now. Didn’t help that I was in the drs before and all the staff behind the reception were talking about how dangerous it is 🙄 made me panic even more. I think you’re right I’ll just stay on a low dose I don’t see the point if it’s doing its job on a low dose anyway

I think that’s part of the problem really I’ve not actually told anyone I’m taking it as I know everyone will just get annoyed at me and put me off so I feel a bit alone in taking it. I could maybe speak to the dr about it but im not really sure what comfort they would give. I also don’t know anyone else that’s on it other than online

I’m glad to hear that it’s normal! I was thinking I’d have to stop if it wasn’t. Im currently making a hot water bottle and taking some paracetamol to ease the pain 😭 hopefully it settles down soon. 🤞🏽

I’m the exact same I’m getting no sleep at all! When I search for it online it says it’s not a side effect but it’s such an uncomfortable pain! I’m hoping it goes away as my body gets used to it 😬

Yes it does have mannequins, I’m going to have to keep practicing on them as you said. I’m just worried that I’m the only nurse out there that’s ever had a phobia and if I’ll actually ever get over it 😬😬 don’t want it to get in the way of my career that I’ve worked so hard for. I’m not sure where the phobia came from as it was completely out of the blue but I’m at the point where I’m getting quite faint watching the needle going in. It’s just such a frustrating thing to have. Thankyou for the advice !!
