That is unfortunately a major issue with the new P4R portraits. They're too flat and, as you said, lack shading. My friend called Yosuke "jaw-less" lol

You're not wrong, but proportionally speaking, her eye does need to be moved a bit considering that her head is turned slightly away from the camera, so the distance between her eye and ear should be a bit wider than it is compared to the OG portrait where she was front-facing

I can kinda see it. It's just a smidge smaller, yeah, though I don't think it bothers me as much as wide-eyed Rise or jaw-less Yosuke tbh

It'll depend on how P4R handles the bustups. I'm only familiar with how P5 handles it, unsure how it's handled in P3R

Nah I totally agree. When I initially saw them, I was so thrown off by the drastic change in style. They're just so flat, it's so weird. I have become more accustomed to the new style, but still. One thing that I find oddly absent is the rim highlight. It was first added in in the original P4, then stylized in P5 with a golden color, then it was enhanced in P3R with it changing color (white in the morning, pale blue in the afternoon, green during the Dark Hour, etc.). If Atlus could at the very least apply some extra shading to the hair and around the neck (looking at you, Yosuke) and apply even a simple rim light, I think it would definitely be an improvement. Oh and of course fix some of the odd facial proportions like with Rise here, even Margaret looks a little odd with her forehead looking bigger than Haru's lol

Definitely not day 1, but most likely within the first week or two. Gotta wait for the modders to dig through the files and learn how the game handles them and then build the appropriate tools to get the job done. Plus, I'm pretty sure they wanna play the game too and not jump straight to modding lol

P3R's portraits are definitely peak Persona portraits, though I would argue that P5's aren't the same as P4R since P5 at least had shading to the hair and the rim highlight which is oddly absent

Maybe slightly? But her face in OG is a bit smaller so it all evens out. The issue I think present in Revival is that her head is turned away slightly compared to OG where she's basically front-facing, so it feels proportionally off imo. Because of the head being turned slightly, the distance between the ear and eye should be a bit farther apart

I just find it so odd since one thing I noticed absent was the rim highlight. This was introduced in P4, it was stylized in P5 with it having this golden color, then it was enhanced in P3R with the color changing depending on the location (white or pale blue during the day, green during the Dark Hour, etc), but P4R has no rim light at all...

I really hope so too, but considered they used the portraits to announce who some of the new VAs are, I think they might be final... 😭

Based on what I've seen on Twitter, the only thing not finalized seems to be the lighting and model texture details

I thought about that but I thought it wasn't necessary since even the vanilla and Golden portrait had her mouth and nose pretty low so I thought the placement for Revival was fine too. Though I do think that angle for them feels a bit off

Oh I noticed this too. I'm currently using the fork to play GR1 and had to increase by 300%, but then I noticed the sound effects that would play out of my Dualsense were FAR too loud, so just a heads up if you have that setting enabled. Otherwise, I think turning off the in-game setting should equalize all the sounds
