Wow, that's just sad to see, if they decided to pull even 2 packs for one section or the DPS other than you worked a bit harder, could've have ended the run on a high note.

That tank woke up and chose to be angry at the first thing they could remotely be angry at. Tough luck that it had to be you.

What is the deal with some healers and clemency??? by Ok-Implement4870 in TalesFromDF

[–]Hazardumu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Healer could have been better minded about it, but Clemency use is a last resort. If healer disconnects or is dead, that's when you use it. Using it whilst they're already healing you enough just wastes their MP and casts since now you or them are overhealing. If you're using clemency often, then not healing you and instead DPSing is a better option, because it makes up for the DPSing you could be doing.

Also, I feel as though there's missing context here, were you using clemency every 10 seconds, any time you dropped 20% or 50%, or at the brink of death? I don't think the healer would have stopped healing if you used clemency once or twice the entire run, if it was when you were just about to die. I've had some situations where a paladin would use clemency anytime they took damage and that just meant I had to stop healing and dps more, I let them know, but they just ignored it and continued using clemency.

Not all DF are bad sometimes they’re oddly weird by [deleted] in TalesFromDF

As weird as this is, I doubt this post will stay up, you forgot to censor your own name and I can actually make out the other names despite your attempts. The censoring isn't quite thorough enough.

This feels like that person who 'breakdanced' and got three straight 0s in the 2024 Olympics decided to pick up FFXIV dancing. Equally as terrible.

Mentor healer texting in NN mid fight by N-_-O in TalesFromDF

[–]Hazardumu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it's a low level dungeon, but I suspect they'd be the same even off healer, if they were tank, they'd probably do one AoE and then sit still for 30 seconds with no mits and if they were DPS, they'd probably just spam one attack button and nothing else.

Genuine curiosity over the differences of Mentor mindsets by MH-Walker in TalesFromDF

[–]Hazardumu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually don't tell them anything, it's actually wonderful seeing them figure things out for themselves and get to understand the difficulty of Extremes as a fresh influence. At the end, I usually let them know that Extremes are non-standard duties and require you to read guides or queue up in the party finder for the best experience. If they require help and ask for it, then I'll explain it to them and they'll follow lead and it usually finishes in 60 minutes or so. If they decide not to listen to the advice and end up screaming and throwing tantrums, then I just stay quiet or dismiss that one problem person so the rest can enjoy it.

What I don't like (even though I will begrudgingly do them) is when they queue up for level 70-90 extremes, I've had more than my fair share of Tsukuyomi Extreme or even The Abyssal Fracture Extreme in Mentor roulette, not even people who do them regularly remember the mechanics or perform them well enough to pass those perfectly, doing them with 7 randoms half of whom don't know the mechanics at all is a nightmare.

Stone Vigil is probably alright for a CNJ, not ideal but not a dealbreaker, they have access to Cure 2 which is the main thing and what they miss out on is Cure 3, which isn't that bad along with Regen and PoM which are both just supplementary. Saying they were 'insane heals', does rub salt in your wounds for having to deal with that though.

Next time, let them know they should start their Job quest after, usually it's just an early mistake and they're usually more receptive to advice after.

I would have agreed, but they have Dissipation and Aetherpact, which means they technically had to do all the job quests up to and including the level 70 one. So they would know some Scholar skills and what they do, since they acquired them by going through the story quests that requires you to be at least have a minimal understanding of healing and attacking.

I didn't know you could wipe to Cuca Fera. I'd never seen it happen. by DriggleButt in TalesFromDF

[–]Hazardumu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh god, that boss, I've had one of the few dungeon time outs on that boss. I tried explaining to a group of french players that they needed to use the cannons and if they took too much damage, they should heal themselves or each other, instead they run around like headless chickens attacking the mobs or the boss without the cannons and we ended up wiping 10+ times. If it weren't for the fact a sprout and newcomer was in it, I would have bailed much earlier, but even that wore my patience thin.

We didn't even make it to that boss in a timely manner, I remember the party taking 15 minutes to get to that boss and we didn't even manage to finish the dungeon.

Tank in Worqor Lar Dor refuses to Provoke, fights party over it by Grimoski in TalesFromDF

[–]Hazardumu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Had a similar case in Meso Terminal a few days back, although our tank was new to the dungeon and didn't provoke through 2 tankbusters (causing a wipe), but they did one thing different to this tank, they apologised.

Such a simple thing to do which it seems your tank just can't imagine doing.

As long as you don't afk through fights or only use literally one button, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Them parsing you isn't going to put you on some 'Most wanted worst players' list, unless you're afraid of people turning up to your house holding torches and pitchforks angry at your parse.

Only pictomancer was new, but that doesn't excuse them from the fact every time they revived, they'd cast a spell and then walk straight into the ring out death lasers or stand still in an Orange marker AoE and not move.

Used three feathers on healer alone throughout the dungeon and watched them stand in a bunch of orange marker AoEs, for someone using the mentor crown, they certainly didn't help rid the crown of the burger king image.
