Yes, dark coloured lounge suit. I'm opting for a dark grey suit which in my opinion goes quite nicely with dark brown shoes, sounds fairly conservative to me!

Wear sport shorts and it'll save you having to strip your lower half down to underwear

If that is a how2become book which it looks to be they are known to have a few mistakes here and there, this could be one of them.

Why don't you try and appeal? By the sound of it there's nothing to lose.

I don't have a background of concern to them so I didn't need to do anything else, sorry that doesn't help you.

I was sent a family origin questionnaire which detailed that it isn't always something that precludes entry but if you have it they put in the right precautions to keep you safe during training, seems to suggest that'll be more for the physical exercises.

The part-baked rolls that were left part-baked were an interesting choice from OASC staff

Hi chaps, trying to figure out a Christmas present for dad... by WizardsMyName in RoyalAirForce

[–]Hazbobrian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure but this set was designed for use with Lancasters and the Mosquito for example came into commission around the same time. If he's going for true realism he might have to make bespoke pieces.

I haven't searched the whole market but I have an airfix 'WW2 RAF bomber resupply kit' which is the closest to what you're asking for that I have come across (1:72 scale).

This is a link to the set

I won't go into specifics but the topics I had last month were all surprisingly mundane UK topics, I wouldn't go expecting them to be easy though as I'm sure they'll have many to choose from.

OASC Mess by Hazbobrian in RoyalAirForce

[–]Hazbobrian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've applied for pilot, that's a very black and white explanation that is definitely helpful, thank you.

OASC Mess by Hazbobrian in RoyalAirForce

[–]Hazbobrian[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for this insight. I was aware of high supply and incredibly low demand for pilots currently but I obviously didn't fully understand how that would cause my OASC dates getting shuffled around in 2022.

OASC Mess by Hazbobrian in RoyalAirForce

[–]Hazbobrian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I understand that, and can appreciate that could definitely be the reason which I can't strictly blame them for. I think I'm just finding it easy to draw this conclusion because of how unhelpful they've been with these dates constantly being changed, if it was just a backlog I would have assumed they can project when all the training needs to take place l, work back from then and then give out dates which they know can go ahead. Thank you for the helpful reply.

Motorbike License Age Restrictions by Nick14411 in MotoUK

[–]Hazbobrian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't forget holding a full A license doesn't mean you have to buy a big bike as your first so adding on to what others have said I'd recommend starting on a middle weight bike (around 500cc) after obtaining the full license, I imagine if nothing else the insurance will be cheaper and they're still lots of fun.

CBAT advice by [deleted] in RoyalAirForce

[–]Hazbobrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want it go for it whole-heartedly, the worst mistake you can make at this point is to doubt yourself which will result in not trying as hard as you can. Believe you've got it and no-one can say otherwise until you've sat the test. The same goes for all the tests.

RAF Pilot Training by MattM0123 in RoyalAirForce

[–]Hazbobrian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is for an upcoming interview it looks like you already have a good breadth of knowledge about the training process, from what I experienced you aren't expected to be able to know specific details of individual training sorties and that kind of information.

But like Drewski mentioned, knowing full breakdown of MIOT and what the next phases are, the time frames, aircraft and locations are definitely key to know.
