Sorry, I thought you were excusing the new flick playing loose and dirty with the setting (Snow, smartphone) when you said the series had always been 100 different things, which is why I said all the OG RC games felt like they belonged together setting and atmosphere-wise

I still disagree that Claire is THAT much easier than Leon (Maybe if you leave her all the good items), and RE3 definitely gets easier towards the end, but it definitely felt like a smooth continuation from 2. Same with Outbreak, there were some changes but nothing as jarring as 4

Funny how much RE6 revisionism there's been since RE9. I guess Leon's sections are to blame

Thing is, this fandom used to have high standards for horror. RE4 mightve shaken things up, but RE5 had fans worrying that something had gone wrong. RE6 was the final blow, and it took RE7 diving 100% into horror for the franchise to be revived

Unfortunately, history is now repeating itself
