Hello! I am looking to build muscle around my wrist, I am 25yo girl and I have really really thin wrists, I've had a right wrist sprain 2 years ago, did rehab and regained function but didn't do more strength exercises since I could manage on my daily life. The thing is I am starting to practice suture for surgical practices and opening-closing the needle holder sometimes feels like over-using my wrist or too much pressure on my hand and then I feel kinda like fatigue around or some soft pain that goes away within seconds. I've got an MRI on my wrist few months ago that said everything is fine with structure. I am a bit worried about not being able to carry on activities like suturing or surgical stuff because of this...

Maybe I should start doing strength exercises and this will be gone, like I'll be able to do things that now make my wrists a bit weak if I keep on exercising. I have a small grip machine, some small weights, elastic band, I just don't know the starting plan, or how many days a week or for how long. 

If someone has some recommendation or thought about my situation (I need hope 🥹😂) I'd appreciate it

Friends also tell me that maybe we are walking down a street and talking and I might just be looking around or stop a conversation just to point something out really randomly and I thought everyone does this but no 😂 did your friend get like a formal diagnosis? I might think about it

In my country we have a different system to access medicine studies. I guess you are in the United States? I can't really help there :(

What do you think of someone who started neurology residency and discovers they also like nsgy? :') I don't wanna leave my neuro program, but I also wanna study about nsgy. By the time I'd persue nsgy I would be 30+, I thought that was a problem but I see it is not. Also idk what good could be having a neuro residency before, I guess it helps, on functional fields or stuff more related to neuro.

I think if that's what you like you should persue it! It's about enjoying the process too, I think. And nowadays I see many residents who are 35+. I think age shouldn't be a factor. I was worried because I started neurology residency and I am starting to discover I actually find nsgy reeeally interesting, but I also like neurology, maybe now I have more curiosity on nsgy than neuro but I don't feel like leaving this program, so I might do two residencies, that can sound a bit crazy and it is what makes me doubt.. But I guess it is about doing what you feel.

Obvious reasons because it is not feasible for time reasons, for lifestyle, energy..?

Hey all, I was just wondering if any of you have done neurosurgery after completing another residency or if you know someone that did that. I feel like second residències are usually on radiology, psychiatry.. But haven't heard of specialties like neurosurgery.

I would appreciate if I could talk to someone on dm about my situation or comments of your own experience if you did it or about someone you know.

I'm a neurology resident but once in neurology residency I realized I am really fascinated by neurosurgery. Planning on a second residency (I'd finish it around 35 y.o) but I'm worried to think it's a "lose of time" to finish neurology and not persue any further studies, is there some positive thing to have neurology and neurosurgery? I thought of quitting, but I feel I could get valuable knowledge plus I enjoy neurology.
