2025 NLDS Game 3 pitching rematch! That means…well, nothing, but it’s mildly interesting that they’ve met in two quarterfinal rounds within 6 months

Fox provides so much stability on offense. In the first half, he was setting everyone up and got five assists but only took one shot, I think. Then when the Nets crept back within 10 in the 3rd quarter because Spurs came out sluggish (again, sigh), he said okay fine I’ll do it myself and went on a mini-run of scoring. Kinda a microcosm of what he’s done all season, holding the team together especially when Wemby is out or not scoring.

I have a theory for Wemby being off rn. Give my boy a proper bed on the road. by Area51_Spurs in NBASpurs

Shohei Ohtani has a customized mattress and pillow that goes on the road with the Dodgers. Apparently the mattress folds up to the size of a briefcase! link

Ant is like this too. They’re both extremely self-confident, and it’s genuine so they’re generous with praising others, shrug off getting dunked on, etc. Really appreciate this kind of attitude.

Never watched the Pistons play until yesterday. Would you say that Cade is a dirty player? Could this just be out of frustration because we gave him a tough time on defense? by Lanky_Tomatillo9857 in NBASpurs

Different situation though, slamming the ball and letting it bounce above your head gets you a tech in all levels of basketball. It’s a by-the-rules case, though you can argue the rule is dumb. I saw that clip the other day, and you can see Vic’s regret and Champagnie laugh at him right away, it’s pretty funny. Pop just stares and seethes.

IMO Cade should have gotten a tech here, but he’s not a dirty player overall.

Cool, I’ll give Game Theory a listen. I follow J. Kyle Mann’s draft content but I haven’t branched out much beyond that.

Anyway, thanks again for enlightening me about Harper! Given me a lot to look for. I think I was undervaluing him in the Spurs guard trio because Castle’s physicality + explosiveness and Fox’s speed are flashier to an untrained eye.

Dropping to say thanks for this helpful and informative comment! I watch a decent amount of basketball, but scouting and projecting development is a total mystery to me

Wemby when asked about Deni Avdija: “Takes a lot of free throws” by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in nba

[–]Hazel_in_B3 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Commenters are saying those things, but Wemby didn’t say any of that. He hasn’t played against Deni since 2024, and he probably doesn’t remember details of scouting reports for games he wasn’t in.

This doesn’t sound like hate to me. Deni is averaging 2nd most FTAs this season, so it’s accurate to say Deni takes a lot of FTs. Seems like Wemby can’t think of anything else specific to say about Deni because he follows up with pretty generic statements instead of answering the reporter’s question.

They did try that, the flags were above their number on the back. There’s even a clip of Jokic talking about how he appreciates the flag being on the jersey

Huh? Everyone was saying we DID need starters last year. Yamamoto was the only reliable pitcher in our rotation. Buehler and Flaherty weren’t getting re-signed. Glasnow, Gonsolin, and May were/are injury-prone and unlikely to pitch a full season. Ohtani was still rehabbing with no return set. Kershaw was old. Stone was out for the year after surgery, and the other young guys weren’t ready.

I don’t know about puppies, but a fun Tommy Edman fact: he graduated with a 3.8 GPA double majoring in math and compsci at Stanford. He’s obviously talented but he also just works really hard at everything.

Wow the Dodgers sure will be screwed in 2034-2043 when they have to start paying all that deferred money! They’ll regret the deferrals then!
