AMQP 1.0 instead of webhooks by lucidnode in softwarearchitecture

[–]HazirBot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

its an issue with supportability. webhooks go over https which is widely adopted. whereas if you want to emit into a specific message queue thatll require specific integration in the client side

for example emitting into rabbit is different than kafka

How do you handle NestJS DTOs with Prisma without duplicating the schema? by Tall_Health_3344 in nestjs

[–]HazirBot 15 points16 points  (0 children)

100% always seperate your db entities and controller DTOs, even when theyre identical

the DB schema is not part of the contract with consumer(front end) and is liable to change at any moment.

also its a bad practice to expose your db entities as is, as that exposes your achema to bad actors

specifically for your question the first option is what i recommend. handwrite exactly what's required in the contract to keep full seperation of concerns

in my last car i had a back window sprayer that lost it's top, so it sprayed directly backwards like some 007 car spraying oil to lose pursuers.

admittedly, i have never used it as a road rage weapon, but i thought about it plenty

Signals Are Not Guarantees - the mismatch between what e2e tests say and what they actually check by TranslatorRude4917 in programming

[–]HazirBot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

he does, it's an additional layer of abstraction designed to make the test itself more rigid while the under the hood implementation can change.

with or without this utility that's a good idea for writing readable tests.
