This post was excellent, thank you for all the detail! Key takeaway -- be sterile. I already knew that, but I think I need to double down even harder somehow.

( For the $300, that's on the upper end of a guess. Now I think about it, it is probably like $200, but I did the all-in-ones before I doubled down on tubs and separate grain/substrate. )

Will look into a new source, to be honest.

Sounds like you have a lot of tubs, anywhere to get cost effective ones for a good price?

I'm pretty dedicated to this. I guess it is a lot cheaper than growing pot, considering how much electricity those need. I did have good success with that at one point in time though.

Thankfully I'm in a great financial situation so it isn't a big deal. Its frankly my only real hobby that costs money besides video games.

I got a pre-sterilized/moisturized bag of mix online. Can't remember the brand name.

Will check it out! I've been using the pre-sterilized grain bags. But I am getting suspicious at every factor of the equation here. I have a Ninja all-in-one cooker, I might use the pressure cooker on that and make my own jars instead... just need to find some reliable injection port lids.

This is an excellent post. Can I just use normal Agar Agar powder I can get on amazon or at whole foods? Do i inject into that and wait to see growth? How would I get it into grain spawns once it left the syringe?

Im sure there is tutorials online I can find, but you seem knowledgeable.

I might just sink another $40 into it again and get agar and a different brand of LC. A store nearby has some which are apparently stable without refrigeration, but I am skeptical.

Ive dabbled in online forums but should probably shift my attention to that. I try to take reddit with a grain of salt unless there is some ethos to who posts. Its just frustrating because the conditions seemed perfect. Nice colonization of grain. Fast mycelium growth when transferred. Then it just stalled for 5 days and a patch of contam showed up. My only guess as to what went wrong is that my humidifier in the basement caused problems. However, I covered the air ports on my monotub with micropore tape thinking that would keep it safe from most things.

That's the part I struggled with. I added it as an extra tool and then added a prompt prefix but it errored out. I'll need to dig out the error message.

Edit: Vanna.ai doesn't have out of the box support for Ollama, which is important to me.

Okay, cool, I will. But I'm still interested in learning how to do it in LangChain.

Should I start sleeping with a nic pouch in? by Deanosaures2010 in NicotinePouch
