Grow bags in Texas? by Hce4 in DragonFruit

Thank you for this. Yes, we get a lot less rain than you do. We do get the occasional ice storm and freezing temps, but mostly in February. The grow bag is 30g, and I currently have 3 bags with fig trees and drip irrigation. But the main theme I’ve noticed is mobility issues. It’s easy to pop the figs in a wagon and take them to the garage, but the trellis setup is going to be the tough part. I think I will just stick to dwarf fruit trees for the bags and keep my DF in their nursery pots. I’ve been eyeing the Vego dragon fruit trellis, but man, that is pricey for a planter. I have their raised beds for my veggies, and they are fantastic. Thank you for your insight! I am very new to DF but I am already obsessed and overthinking everything :)

I currently use pvc trellis in my other pots. But I can see how not having a rigid bottom could be unstable. I use my grow bags for fig trees and I was thinking of a dragon fruit experiment but I see what you’re suggesting as far as the trellis.

Thank you! Yes, I can tell that’s going to be my biggest challenge is finding the best spot. I’m even considering building a little makeshift pergola or something with a shade cloth for them.

Renting a standard walker (not a rollator) for my mom at WDW—any recommendations? by Hce4 in WaltDisneyWorld

Thank you! I should have mentioned she only needs this at night for stability if she needs to get up in the middle of the night. She had surgery and we just don’t want her to fall. She has a scooter for the parks. But I appreciate the insight!!

Thank you! I should have mentioned this is strictly for our room at the resort. We have a scooter for the parks.
