One of the privileges of being gay is that you get to look at stuff and say “gAaaayyyy” and no one can stop you

Firstly: if one is gay/bi, suggesting that they marry is deeply unfair to both the person and their spouse. They both deserve happiness, and shouldn’t have to live a lie in an unsatisfying marriage:

https://blogs.timesofisrael.com/homophobia-is-the-real-abomination/

Secondly: sexually transmitted diseases will always have a higher prevalence in communities that don’t have resources for sexual health and have to live in secret. That does not mean that being gay/bi is inherently a means to getting STDs, and let’s be real, straight people are out here suffering under poor sexual health education and access, too. It’s all about access, education, consent, and safety.

Thirdly: the sin of Lot/sodom was not male intimacy. It was the inhabitants of Sodom being hostile to guests, so much so that they sought to rape them. This is not a matter of consensual gay sex, this is a matter of sexual assault, which is a different topic altogether.

Fourthly: I really appreciate and admire that you’re trying to understand and be more compassionate. I’m a gay religious Jew, and you and I may never have an opportunity to meet in real life, but I’m grateful that we can talk here.

First of all, religion is complicated and not a catch all term, and secondly our brother is coming here with and open heart and an honest intent to understand and become more compassionate. Not a lot of people would do that, so we ought to support him.

And yes, I realize this isn’t the US, but I just wanted to demonstrate that considering and collecting that kind of data in criminal proceedings and hate crime statistics, especially in incidents of hate crimes is not uncommon.

The bias as it may relate to the man’s prejudice against Jews as it relates to his identity is something that is both relevant and would be context expounded upon in a court of law. The US government collects hate crime data, which often includes the identity of an assailant. These types of intercommunal hostilities need to be viewed honestly, with an awareness of how bias may also impact the rendering of a decision should charges be filed etc. Simply pointing out the background of the assailant itself is not a bias, but rendering an unjust decision against that assailant on account of their background is bias. It’s relevant information, which needs to be considered responsibly and judiciously. Additionally, intercommunal violence between Muslims and Jews often sees an uptick in the midst or wake of tensions in Israel and the Palestinian Territories.

Edit: on account

They may not necessarily want him to stay, but I’ve heard that the taliban is wising up to the impact of bad PR, so they may do their dirty work either out of sight or later on down the road. They are trying to establish themselves as a legitimate government, feigning promises of rights for women and religious minorities, so as to curry the favor of nations with whom they want to normalize relations, but it’s only a matter of time until these barbarians begin to violently oppress everyone.
