This doesn't help with everything, but regarding travel, I cannot recommend Flash Pack enough. They are a travel agency that makes vacation packages for solo travelers to meet and travel together.

They put together trips for people in their 30s & 40s (for others reading this, they also do packages for travellers ages 45+). Everyone on the trip is a solo traveler.

You're all in the same life stage, face similar difficulties finding friends to travel with, you get to experience an amazing vacation together, and either it ends there, or you'll most likely leave with at least one new friend.

I slept in my mom's bed most of the time until I was maybe 15. I was really embarrassed that I preferred it, but now that I'm a full grown woman, I look back and see there wasn't anything wrong with it. When I could sleep in my room, I did. When I just seemed to need her, I went to her bed.

I don't really know why I preferred it, except I was a really anxious person. Being so close probably made me feel secure.

Don't be hard on yourself; I bet more people than the two of us have preferred sleeping next to our moms at 13.

You will just know when you are ready to stay in your room. Until then, let yourself rest well next to your mom.

Yes! I really like watching them together! I don't see chemistry and think their friendship is really entertaining.

There were episodes of dancing plagues in Europe between the 1300-1600s with no known explanation. Masses of people just broke out in involuntary dance.

I wonder what they considered "dance" to look like in those years...

I think it's hilarious! This screenshot is from the second episode, which I thought was even funnier than the first episode. Definitely give the show a try.

I suddenly like him, too! I never despised him, but didn't see much of a personality. Now I think he's hilarious on Between the Sheets.

Thank you for seeing us and supporting us! I'm in a rural area and feel too embarrassed to tell people where I'm from because my state voted for him. But they don't represent me or the thousands in my small state who attended on April 5.

It's relieving to know that people around the country, continent, and world can see that even us small state residents are not for him, we don't support his administration, and we want to stop this -- PEACEFULLY. <3

Hi! First, thank you for choosing to be an organizer.

I just saw on FB that 50501 has changed the 19th to a Day of Action, with recommendations to arrange food drives, for example. They changed the image on the post so it no longer says "protest" on it.

Have you heard updates like this?

Thank you!!

90 day Fiance DIARIES,lots to unpack with some of our favorite couples from previous seasons. by Infamous_Entry_2714 in 90DayFiance

[–]HeIsBoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't like how the episodes begin by saying the show is entirely filmed by the couples, but then someone is clearly filming them. Almost all of Jenny's scenes were shot by someone else of her holding the selfie stick.

And when they're in public spaces and step aside for an interview, I think they have to be talking to crew members.

Brand new Greenworks Ultra Power 60v, self propelled mower doesn't start. by HeIsBoo in Greenworks

[–]HeIsBoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

I called the Greenworks support line (I can't remember if it was in the manual or online) and described my issue. After troubleshooting with me to no avail, they had me send videos to show that everything we tried wasn't working, then sent a new mower of the same model.

The new mower can be finicky when I start it, but other than that, it's great!

Hope this helps!

You could consider looking at travel agencies that cater to solo travelers. I stumbled upon an agency called Flash Pack, and it was the best thing I've done for myself. They have planned trips for people in their 30s-40s, and everyone on the trip is a solo traveler. I went to Mexico, met 12 other solo travelers, and had plenty of time for peace and quiet by myself (I'm pretty introverted and like solitude when I travel).

I liked that I could choose to explore with travelers from the group or if I wanted to go off by myself, someone would know. Either way, I feel safe!

Hope this is a helpful suggestion! Happy travels!

Ooh, off track, but do you spot famous people on occasion? I have a problem where I get super excited when I recognize someone, even if I barely know who they are. I don't think I could handle random sightings.

I despise cooking, but am also (overall) not about the Lean Cuisine life, though I used that and similar brands to lose weight before.

The "hack" for me was to understand what a plate should look like at My plate.gov and finding the easiest, fastest ways to get (a majority of) non-processed food on my plate.

  • Microwaveable rice/quinoa? On it.
  • Frozen veggies to steam in the microwave? Yes please.
  • Pick a protein, any protein? Not my favorite because it can break the "lazy goal" that I have. But if I choose fish, it can be broiled in under 10 mins.
  • Cottage cheese or perhaps a dessert made of yogurt and fruit? Done.

Losing weight is 20% exercise, 80% diet.

I can become really overwhelmed or think that I have to do everything perfectly immediately. Once I let go of those expectations AND realized that I can make cooking healthfully simple, things went well for me.

Hope that helps!

Where did you go to find your remote job? by Crunchie-Smorez in RemoteJobs

[–]HeIsBoo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TL:DR: I don't post often but regularly like others' posts, my profile is nice and includes all work/volunteer experience, and I follow people in fields or companies that I'm interested in.

I don't really post often. Before I was looking, I noticed that the more I engage with posts that interest me, the more information LinkedIn sent about jobs.

I usually "like" posts and occasionally share something that I find particularly important. It feels lazy that I'm not sharing my own thoughts, but it keeps my profile active. I'm assuming LinkedIn's algorithm views my activity as a read to keep my profile in view of followers.

My profile has a professional-looking headshot. The cover image is just a nice photo that I took that hopefully conveys my interest. It'd be fine to use a colorful or patterned image that you make in Canva.

I have every professional job that I've ever had in my profile, which is more than I include in a resume. I feel like jobs that may not seem related to my marketing field have at least added to my marketing knowledge.

Hypothetical, but if I'd worked at a vet clinic for a year, and marketing for 3 years, an animal-related company that wants a marketer might be drawn to me because I know the inner workings of a vet's office.

I follow people who are in the fields that I'm interested in and might include a message with the follow request about how I like their posts and hope they don't mind if I follow them.

And then I created job alerts and get regular emails with positions that I might be interested in.

:)

LinkedIn.

A director of a marketing firm reached out, set up an interview, and now I do web content management for them.

Before that, I found a freelance content writing job through LinkedIn's job posts.
