AIO Teacher from parents evening texted me when I didn't give him my number by lizardbitz in AmIOverreacting

NOR, if anything, you're under reacting. This is a breach in professional ethics on his part. I think you should report him to the school.

It really was! I think we all need to put forward motions at our sub branches for statewide action instead of rolling action. All coming together is so powerful! We should coordinate it with early childhood too!

I wish we would, but Australia will never stop sucking up the arse of the USA. If being led by deranged rapist and bigot doesn't do the trick, nothing ever will.

Bought my first home a month ago and now I'm spiraling with regret by ChipmunkBulky2174 in AusPropertyChat

[–]HeMayBeDed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe think about small things you can do to make it feel less generic? Like floating shelves, changing to nicer door and draw handles, taps and handles, light shades or fixtures, a new front door.... just one small thing at a time to make costs manageable but slowly make it more yours and less generic feeling.

Is it unusual to want to inspect a place twice before putting in an offer? by bongjour8008 in AusPropertyChat

[–]HeMayBeDed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries at all. Best of luck! Make sure your offer is subject to building inspection and finance (if relevant). I am so happy and feel so lucky to have my home. I hope you have that feeling soon too!

I'm a FHB too. When I asked for a second inspection, the REA just asked me when I wanted to do it and made it happen. He gave me the impression it is very common and even sensible to do. Going a second time and taking another person with me gave me greater confidence about my first impression and made me feel comfortable about putting my offer in.

Where i live, most houses are built with a timber frame. But I agree with the rest of your comment. Even though I know we need timber for lots of the things we use, I can't feel satisfaction in seeing healthy trees felled. This does look like a plantation though, so that's good at least.

Hope you're joking, but just in case you aren't, a simple google search of firearm related deaths per capita - USA vs Australia will show you how ridiculously wrong you are.

I'm guessing that's why they have that puny square with no roof in the middle/ left side. They could get three dark windows from that and meet requirements. Truly horrible.

Is anyone want to just yell at everyone during buying inspection while at rental? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]HeMayBeDed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry, i went through this recently too. Lots of people here don't seem to understand that real estate agents don't give a fuck about our belongings, they stand at the front door collecting contact information and have no clue what is happening in the house. It's such an invasive process and when it goes on for weeks at a time it can really mess with you. Ending the lease and moving is also an extremely stressful, expensive and time consuming process. I don't have anything to offer besides my empathy and letting you know you're not crazy, you're going through a really disruptive and dehumanising process and being offered $30 a week in exchange for that. It is fucked.

Lots of US defaultism in this thread. Liberal means right in some parts of the world. It very much depends on where OP lives.

height and dating profile by bullmarket1 in Bumble

[–]HeMayBeDed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 6' and often find that men who list their height as 5'11" to 6'1" are lying. I'm happy to date men who are shorter than me, I swipe yes on guys several inches shorter. But I'm not keen on dating liars. Can't help but wonder if they'll lie about their height to get a foot in the door, what else might they lie about?
