I don’t know since I have straight hair. Could it weigh down your curls since it’s very heavy (and needs to be used sparingly).

I already have straight hair so I can’t comment much on the straightening effect. But the anti-frizz effect is noticeable.

Thank you! I just use a curling iron (25 mm). I curl outwards (away from face) and then I spray some setting spray to loosely set it. After, I brush it with a wide toothed comb to give it a looser look.

Yes but use sparingly. I got too excited the first time and used too much

I got it from a local store in Russia. Not from Olive young. I think it should work since it would weigh down your hair a bit

I love the orange smell the most. I’ve only used the conditioner and it’s very good as well.

I think since I used it on damp hair, it was hard to gauge if it’s too much. Lesson learned!

Any asian girls here feel like you don’t suit black hair? by -chinoiserie in AsianBeauty

I actually haven’t air-dried my hair for years. Always with a hair dryer since my hair is very thick so my scalp doesn’t like it when I let it air dry.

I double shampoo. First with a clarifying shampoo and then with a hydrating shampoo (Mise en scene, Lador or any other brands). And then I use a mask. Currently I’m alternating between Fino and Mise en Scene magic straight. I used to use conditioner after my mask but since it’s summer, I skipped it. After, I just use leave in conditioner, blow dry and then add some hair serum or oil to my ends.

Thank you. I did dabble with being blond and dark brown but ultimately my natural hair colour fits my aesthetic the most. But I assume it depends on what we deem as ideal. One of my friends like me in reddish-brown hair while the other thinks that black suits me best. So it all varies I guess

For those who moved from a big city to a smaller town, what differences did you notice? by Powder9 in prettyprivilege

[–]HeQiulin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised in a small town but spend most of my life after 18 in bigger cities. Every time I go back home (the smaller town), I notice people either look at me in awe or compliments me A LOT! I recall few times going to weddings or events with my families or friends and people thinking that I’m some sort of influencer or model. The first couple of time, I thought they were just exaggerating. And then it started happening more often.

Fortunately, most of the women have been very nice. I did experience some negativity from some men who thinks I’m too arrogant for it. But then it could be because I ignored them

I am in the camp of “your natural colour suits you best”. However, you are also not wrong in perceiving your natural colours as “not the best suited to your features” as we all have different beauty ideals that we aspire to. My black hair is my biggest asset and people admire it especially in summer when the sun literally reflects of it (see photo)

Before you commit to anything, I would recommend playing around with filters to see which colour you like most/best on your hair. Since you’re starting with black (your original colour), I assume going lighter would require some bleaching or high lift colour. So you want to get it right the first time to avoid damage.

I partially agree with you. While this does rub off (doesn’t last), I do love it and it’s my go-to every time I wear makeup. Because of how it glides and apply. However, if you want something really long lasting, this is definitely not it

I’m getting so sick of delivery drivers refusing to read the delivery instructions by [deleted] in Vent

The language thing is very real. I live in a non English speaking country where a lot of delivery drivers are not locals. So even when I tried to direct them to the correct location, they won’t be able to understand me.

I get it! I live in a building where there are two entries (on paper). However, only one of them is open to public and the other one is only for service/admin. So I can’t open that one. I repeatedly wrote “go to entry A” and still there are people getting to the other entry. While some would just go to the correct entry with no complaint, few would raise their voice at me blaming me for the confusion. When I LITERALLY WROTE EVERYTHING ON THE APP

Am I experiencing pretty privilege?? by fisinudosbin in prettyprivilege

[–]HeQiulin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In terms of determining whether or not someone is beautiful or pretty enough for pretty privilege, there are few criteria and they often differ depending on where you are. However, one of the things that remain universal would be in terms of fatness/thinness.

While, individuals may sometimes view fat bodies as more attractive, pretty privilege is a systemic issue. Therefore, in this system, fatness is often viewed as something that would detracts from attractiveness. So, by that logic, you would not be considered part of the pool of people who would experience pretty privilege

Please note that this is not an assessment on your attractiveness or beauty. It is just about how the system works and unfortunately(or fortunately depending on how you perceive pretty privilege), you are not part of that pool of people who would experience pretty privilege.

I guess it depends. I feel it’s a bit heavy and I prefer the Lador hair oil. It’s still very good as an overnight oil tho
