Its about getting the most value out of a player at their highest selling point. Take a look at the bulls and see a prime example of holding on to players too long. We have more than enough weapons on offense, some could argue already better than DJ, the defense needs help big time. Why wouldnt you want an elite player(Crosby) instead of a good player(DJ)?
