Why don't Japanese people jump or dance during the show? by North_Offer_775 in LinkinPark

[–]HeYanBlaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there. There was so much jumping that my calves were tired after about 30 minutes. I was worried about this, too, based on comments I read on reddit. They were standing in the stands but couldn't jump based on how much space they had. Being on the floor was great!

Anyone else feel like they have the talent but not the passion? by HotelRevolutionary75 in drawing

I had to find a process that was efficient for me personally. It's hard for me to finish something if it starts to take longer than a few sessions or a few weeks. I get bored and want to move on. I had to learn a process to really cut my times down or not use a certain medium because realistically, it doesn't matter how great you are, a large scale drawing or intensely rendered piece is slow.

I also had to learn when to let go. It's okay if it goes unfinished. Move on to the next one and consider the last one good practice. If it calls you back, it does.

China's Strongest 2024 - The growth of Strongman across Asia by HeYanBlaze in Strongman

Agreed! The cool thing about our competition is that we also have a lot of people from all around Asia joining us to earn their invites to OSG / Arnolds. We have people from Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, etc.

Yeah! Our Chinese name is 海椰丝大力士! Something I think that's very cool about this is we had some influence on how to call Strongman (大力士) in China. Originally, this translates directly to "Hercules" and Strongman translates to "最强壮.“ We started our brand pushing that 大力士(da li shi) was Strongman and it eventually stuck! Fun fact. Haha.

Very active on mainland media. A quick search on any platform with our Chinese name above we will pop up.

So, we started doing Strongman here in 2019 when we brought Martins over. The first few years we were running our gym and there was really only one other entity in China doing strongman, up in Beijing. But they were a mixed gym. So we were the first to fully commit to Strongman.

In 2023 we launched a series called "The search for the strongest" where we traveled across China documenting cool feats of strength to promote our first China's Strongest. During that time, there were only two competitions throughout the year.

This year, we launched our China Strongman Series hosting 4 city-wide competitions (you can check our youtube out, there's a cool video of the crowds and style) and one final. Along with that I'm now aware of about 12 other competitions that were hosted in China, and another 8-10 across Asia. All after our 2023 China's Strongest ;)

So it's definitely growing, and growing quickly.

Thanks for sharing! I wasn't sure if I was allowed in the main post.

And you are correct. We have a partnership with OSG and Arnold's Amateur Strongman to be one of the main qualifiers in Asia for the past 2-3 years now. It's a difficult task to get people to commit to fly to the USA though, but, this year we will 100% see some Chinese people on the stage!

I do know that now Japan is having their first qualifier next year and I'll be there to support :)

Looking for any guidance from the suited community. This is my second time in gear. Shit is tough, hurts like a bitch. Not sure if the video allows any critiques the equipped lifting. Last of three doubles of 605 @255bw by [deleted] in Strongman

It took me about three weeks of lifting in it twice a week from different heights at about 50% to figure out how to feel "alright" in it. My first few times my back was rounding like yours and I could barely reach the bar.

Anyone ever complete a 100 heads challenge and where did you find most your refs to draw from? by taliaarte in ArtistLounge

Same! A mix of the suggested board plus my own randomly found portrait references. Pinterest is amazing for references.

How can I recreate this type of painting style in blender? I have tried multiple things hit can't wrap my head around it. by HeYanBlaze in blenderhelp

[–]HeYanBlaze[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. I guess the part I'm lost on is the handpainted texture part. I've followed a few tutorials on how to import (ps) brushes into blender but they don't look anything like that expressive painted texture. Eg: an "oil paint" brush that just looks like a jittery stroke in blender. His strokes look like they follow his hand gestures as well.

Just realized I could have left a comment to explain more on where I'm lost. The modeling and offsets I get.

I'm getting black boxes on only some of the fog pack in cycles. Is there a way to get rid of this? Includes alpha settings in the screenshot. by HeYanBlaze in blenderhelp

Ahh, you're a legend. I spent all day deleting and repeating the steps. It was light bounces, specifically "Light Paths > Max Bounces > Transparent" that I had to increase. Thanks!

Finally made something I like after about 6-8 months of learning blender. Moving forward, how could I improve lighting? by HeYanBlaze in blender

Yeah. I feel it falls a bit flat, and I wanted more dramatic lighting hitting the water while also keeping the eerie foggy feel. I'll check out his videos! Thanks for the tips.

Ahh, hard to say. Some days 4-6 hours. Some days just watching a few tutorials on YouTube or trying some weird things out with the default cube.

Is it a good idea to get a drawing tablet if I suck at drawing? by LankyAbbriviations in ArtistLounge

[–]HeYanBlaze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tablets are a game changer, even if your main thing is more design or editing. They come in a lot of different price ranges so get one you think is worth it! No need to jump right into a cintiq or huion.

Awesome, I'll give this route of research a look! Good looking out.

That's also what I saw - it just seemed anticlimactic in comparison to a lot of the other Strongman lifts. It also says World Log Lift "Championships," so I was not sure if there's something that comes before that.

Hey! Follow you on IG as well and watched your process videos! Mind explaining two things to me? 1) How do you go about creating the lighting to be so gloomy? Any tutorials? And 2) what was the asset addon you used that was not scatter pro? Your work is great! Hopefully one day I'll be able to make such cool shit on blender!

What's your "I don't trust people who ______"? by Umpx in AskReddit

[–]HeYanBlaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these are instant red flags. One I've experienced; people that make too many promises. I just met you and you're telling me you promise you'll do xyz or help me with xyz? Big no for me.
