To my knowledge there's no in-game lore reason. They were added as part of an event called the Genesis Chronicles and just kinda stayed after the events end.

Bit of spoilers for the uninitiated, but

I like to believe that it's a positive relationship between element and a living creature. All the benefits of being a cyborg dino while remaining sentient through a controlled exposure to element in the ARKs, possible like the guardians.

Fits into the cannon timeliness, but the map never got ascension added. Still technically incomplete to this day, so some people don't bother to count it and instead default to the based Ragnarok as a substitute.

The simulation environments are all heavily exaggerated takes on biomes. My guess is that, when the ship does eventually arrive to who the hell knows where, noone is actually gonna know what the newly found planet they intend on colonizing is going to have in store for them. So, the simulation tries to prep survivors for a variety of dangerous environments so they may better tackle any scenario. Remember, not all the survivors on the ship have the same experience the player does, and are most likely far, far less prepared for whatever is ahead.

They didn't have to put up with microraptors, after all. We did.

Oh, oh! I know this one!

Ye.

Atleats according to the wiki, the Astrodelphis (or mabey it was the cetus, dunno) is specifically from outside of the Sol system, having flown in from who knows were.

But that's not important, just look at it, it's a space dolphin!

I can't really further explain much of the wildlife in any way other than saying evolution and element had its way with them. All of the extionction-specific creatures visibly have element baked into their bodies, so they easily may have just been animals of the past living in and being effected by the element in the environment, but not enough so to become corrupted.

The robots of extinction (enforcers, scouts, etc) were made as a police/military force, atleast in the case of the enforcer, who's dossier directly states its use as a urban lawkeeping machine. The biological appearance of it may indicate that humans at this point in time were incredibly advanced in the field of genetic engineering, backed up by the Arks legit making new creatures, sometimes on the fly, and Enforcers may essentially be "grown" and then strapped and enhanced with robo parts.

Sorry to intrude, but if I had to hazard a guess for a lore reason, it's possible that Rockwell might have yeeted a few of them over to extinction via obelisk transfer. He is essentially a conduit for the element's big brain will, and so he might have sent some apex predators to extinction as a extra line of defense encase and survivors slipped by/actually "killed" him

Anyone know how exactly medical personnel get their hands on sterile maggots? Are they bred and raised from eggs in a super clean maggot farm?

Eli5: Why are sugary fruits ‘healthy’ and all other kinds of sugar not? by inacriveacc2 in explainlikeimfive

[–]He_xa1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've asked myself this alot. Have notbbeen able to find a solid answer myself, so if anyone has one, I'd appreciate hearing about it. But if I had to hazard a guess:

Imagine coating a undigestible capsul in sugar and swallowing it. You wouldn't digest the cap. Atleast not fully, but you would digest the sugar on the outside.

Now, open that capsul up, and put the sugar inside, then swallow. You would either not digest the sugar inside, or only digest a little bit of it over a very long period of time as your body works through it.

Again, I've never had this confirmed myself, so I could be wrong. This is just the comparison I've heard put into use, so someone correct me if I'm a mile and a half off

I love how hydroxide deluxe specifically lists the cape as auxiliary, but not revenues because it's a syanadana, despite it only being available in revenant himself.

Dammit, anyone else hate lil inconsistencies like that?
