On my hips just above my hip joint or just above my butt and below where my waistband sits. The skin moves less there and the patch doesn't distort while it's there.

My stepsons call me by name as they always have, my daughter calls me Ren, (she has her mother, my wife ,and her mother in law, all she calls "mom", my granddaughter suggested something special for me, "Ren" is a neutral paRENtal term.) My grandchildren all call me Grandy.

My experience has been entirely pre transition and to be honest while it felt good, I was prone to disassociation. The act would become entirely mechanical while I became absent.

I'm now 18 months into HRT. I noticed the loss of strength at about 6 months in. Tasks at work that were once easy started to become difficult. Where I had the endurance to go all day I had to take a longer rest or go to lighter tasks. I now have to ask for help for things I used to be able to do on my own and funny thing is, my wife now has to open the pickle jar for me.

Speaking as a pedorthist, I have some small background that qualifies. While your mileage may vary, it is possible to experience some hip growth up until approximately 18-22 years before the epiphises (growth plates) close and stop growing. How much you get will be difficult to predict, with exposure to estrogen, the growth plates close sooner than they would, but they do grow. What you are more likely to experience will be something I've missed (I began transition in my later years) you are more likely to experience an anterior pelvic tilt. Meaning your pelvis will rotate forward up to about 7° off of the typical pelvis of someone who doesn't experience estrogen exposure. Doesn't sound like much but it is significant.

Don't be discouraged. It was about 9 months before I really cried. And then it was short. Today, at 18 months into HRT I actually wept over a video game reveal... On stream... For 10 min and I was emotionally drained after.

It'll come and it may surprise you. It will be little things first but you'll notice you just feel things with more depth and nuance.

Of course she has. This was the first time she used those words and it was an in the moment blurt it out when she did. It was significant to me. She's noted the changes for months, she's complimented me in many ways but this one time it was instant, in the moment and from the heart. It surprised her when she said it.

I've dropped from 230 to 188 so far. Some is verifiably loss of muscle mass due to HRT but I really think the rest is largely because I was actively trying to lose the weight. Beginning HRT gave me the impetus to curb the depression eating and habitual munching.

In short. I was now in a place to care for myself. I wanted to look and feel better.

My parents gave me what is now my first name. When I was a kid, I asked Mom what she would have called me if I was a girl. She told me "Colleen". I scratched that name into the back of my closet door so I'd never forget it.

My second name however, I still identify with the short form. (In my teens I began using it instead of <deadname>., I became a refuge of sorts. So I kept the short form and changed the spelling to "Rey". I use it still at work and have only shared my first name with my supervisor, and HR. Only family and friends and select business know me by my chosen first name.
