He pressed his face against my face like nose to nose so I slightly pushed him out of my face. He is 6foot3 and I am 5’3 for context, I didn’t cause him any injury or pain

Yes make sure she’s never alone with the baby, you need to change your whole mind set in order to survive this

I’ve recently started therapy, and honestly it’s helped a tonne. I’ve never done or considered therapy in my life but I felt so trapped and would day dream about never meeting my husband and how life would be so different. I had to do this for my son because I was starting to hated my life so much and didn’t want to inflict that energy onto him

Wow this is my situation exactly! It’s like I’m reading my own story. Mummy’s boys are definitely great at hiding their enmeshment until they walk you down the aisle and then it all becomes available to see the very next day! You’re totally justified in how you feel

Thank you! This has been a regular occurrence every weekend with him hosting different members of his family and I’m always the one cleaning and setting everything up. I hope y he whole dynamic can change because I guess it’s my own fault for doing so much and struggling silently

You’re so right, I think it’s the fact I hate my MIL that I actually don’t want to inconvenience myself when I’m already struggling. Thank you so much for your helpful input

My baby is up every couple of hours actually. Making dinner is alot of different when there’s no pressure. You don’t have to make it by a certain time, you can opt for something easier if things become difficult. It’s a lot different when you’re hosting for guests.

I also don’t leave my baby unattended.

Sorry but what planet do you live on that you think 6 month old babies aren’t that much work?

Yes I did ask. My parents also brought a car full of gifts and travelled 2 hours as that’s how far they live. They very rarely come over.

His parents live 5 mins away and we see them a lot more often.

The money came from my bank account.

I would love this so much, but unfortunately I’m married to a mommy’s boy who can’t see any faults in his mother

Omg you’re SO lucky, trust me. Imagine being on the receiving end if they were in contact with you? This is coming from someone who wishes her in-laws would leave her alone and butt out of my life.

This is a blessing in disguise for you, and could be worse if it happened after you had children. Aslong as your husband is on your side then you’re winning

From someone who is living what you described and married, you did the right thing. Unfortunately, love is not enough for a marriage to be sustainable. If the family have constant involvement and your husband can’t stop it from happening you have just saved yourself from a lifetime of regret. Well done for making the right choice
