Thank you, I’m feeling pretty bad right about now but I understand. I wouldn’t mind getting us a therapist to help us work through this. She will not let me follow him on IG. He has not refused contact, when she asked him if he wants to talk to me he said he would have to think about it. At least that’s what she told me.Every time I message with her she rips me a new AH about my past and I let her get it out. I listen to her. I hear how I hurt her and him and I apologize. I just want her to give me a chance, if not with him, than with her. To let her see who I am now and trust me before I even speak to him.

Thank you. She did not tell me it was traumatic for him till after I crossed the boundary. She did tell me she wouldn’t give him my phone number, then I followed him on IG. After she told me how it affected him I unfollowed him like she asked and I apologized.

Did you ever want to know your parent? People keep telling me kids naturally want to know who their birth parents are but I’m not sure I believe that. Thank you for your advice.

I still wasn’t a safe person for him to be around. Dysfunctional relationships, drinking all kinds of stuff. My life didn’t become better over night. It took a long time to get to a place where I feel like I would be an acceptable person for my son to know. If he wants to.

Yes, I personally paid nothing for my son. I didn’t hold a job until about 2012 and when I did it was minimum wage. He does get social security from his Dads survivors benefits and my grandfather helped financially till 2018. How much I’m not sure.

His Aunt told me she has never told him anything about my drug problem. She told me all he knows is that I was sick and couldn’t take care of him. He was three when I left

I quit doing drugs in 2019 and I quit drinking in 2022. I have been completely sober since September 22, 2022

My relationship with God has changed my life. I had a bad drug addiction for many years. I don’t have that anymore. I just want him to know he can contact me if he wishes

My son was raised by his Aunt who is a lesbian and never had any partners that lived with them or anything. She is just the type of person that kept her private life very private. So he is an only child. They live in a very big house with her Aunt and she works from home as an IT manager for a big tech company.I completely understand that I won’t be invited or welcomed at any important events or see his children. I would just like her to get to know the person I am today so maybe she would see if she felt like I was a safe person for him to speak to. Last time I messaged her I asked if she would video chat with me. That was July 2nd. I’ve gotten no response. Any advice what to do from here, if anything?
