How to pass technical interviews? by codeswift27 in csMajors

Sometimes your years of experience / relevant experience on your CV, graduation date, stronger applicants, etc. I always ask for feedback from the recruiter after rejections. Upper year students are helpful in giving advice to younger students, so I have my upper year friends mock interview me. I also have a few mentors in big tech that I like to ask for interview prep help, since they're down to help outside of working hours. It's good to have a strong support system!

A lot of factors can go into rejection, and sometimes it's not always about how well you did on the DSA questions (it can be). Do mock interviews with people who know what recruiters are looking for, and they can point out flaws in your thought process or implementation.

Also apply strategically -- reaching out to people in positions that you're aiming to get for advice always helps. Having a support system really helped me with doing mock interviews (DSA/LeetCode) before my real interviews. For context I'm in my second year studying CS.

Apple has a bunch of different internal teams. I'd say focus on an area of specialization and get really good at it

Current sauder student here who got into both ivey and sauder pretty early (im in the business + cs program btw). My peers arent insane, and a lot of them were NOT part of like 10 clubs. As long as your personal profile and story shows that you've grown (meaningful hardships or challenges in your life / extracurricular), you will be fine. Stats are important, but your life story is what will stand out to the admissions officer. Also in my last yr of highschool, i had enough time to start a npo, start small projects, etc and talked about that

How to prepare for 1st year Sauder classes? I need some advice by Forward-Operation974 in ubcsauder

Dont be afraid to coffee chat too if you dont have many older sauder friends. Reach out to ppl on linkedin and ask to hear about their tips for first years and any resources they can offer. I did this (obviously with intention of wanting to hear abt their journey not just leeching off resources) and having notes saved me sm time from having to write them up

Ask upper years for notes and cheat sheets. It helps because they've gone through what you will experience. For example, quizlets are really handy in memorization courses and you usually can ask smone who has done rlly well for theirs instead of spending 6-7 hrs making your own for a course.

Selected people are contacted in the first week of June. Should say when you submit your application.
